what scares me about trading pierre

Featured Replies

the only reason that i dont want to trade pierre is because of how the players will react specially 2 all-stars in particularly..........Dontrel and Miggie are very good friends with JP and how would they react, also jp is a fan fav. and most fans would be upset. :mischief2

what do u guys think

If you can bring in a guy that will help this club, wouldn't you do it? I think when Lo Duca came in last season mid way through and took over for Mark Redmond, a chemistry quickly developed there. So once again, if you have the chance to improve your ball club, wouldn't you make the trade? And besides, with winning will come the chemistry.

Pierre aint going nowhere. The only evryday players I see that are tradeable Lowell, LoDuca, ENC, pretty much any pitcher except D-Train. The only coaches I see that have a chance of being fired are Robinson (very good chance), or McKeon(still possible he gets the boot).

Pierre, D-Train, Delgado, Miggy, AGon, Luis and Niner I dont see going anywhere.

But can you win without pals on the team?

Clubhouse and chemsitry not nearly as critical in basketball as baseball. Especially when they had the best player in the league and another top 10 talent.

Touche :mischief

I'd rather keep Pierre and get rid of Lowell. If Pierre still sucks next year, his contract is up. Lowell is making WAY TOO MUCH for what he is producing. Just think, Vlad only costs about $5 million more than Lowell. :confused

this is retarded

jp is the heart and soul of this team

let him get out of his funk

you're all a bunch of steinbrenners

He's been funking up the team for the entire season (which started 2.5 months ago). We are 15 feet deep in his funk and when he doesn't get on base, it puts that much more pressure on our offense, which causes us to press, which causes us to play like crap on offense which eventually works it way over to the defense and pitching.

The Pierre rumor is a New York originated rumor. It didn't start in South Florida. I think that it is safe to say that he isn't going anywhere. It is a New York fantasy. Even on CBS Sportline, they used the disclaimer, "...rumors out of New York..." in order to disassociate themselves from the rumor. This definitely makes you question it's credibility and the reporter that started it.

baseball is actually a much more individual experience. Chemistry is way overrated. Winning breeds chemistry.

Agree with the Shamrock. When you are winning, it's the good chemistry. When you are losing, it's the bad chemistry, and usually the manager gets fired.

Who else is going to play in center?

I guess if they traded JP they could move Enc to CF and he could give half-ass efforts in center field instead... Hooray.

The team would lead the league in inside the park home runs allowed. :lol

you are all forgetting that our center field is one of the biggest (and hardest) in the majors to play. Pierre is one of very few centers who can play it right every day. We need someone fast and agile like him. He will turn around. I have confidence. There is about 95 games left in the season and he can't get much worse.

Pierre has ranked below-average or poorly in Zone Rating throughout his career. And that does not even factor in arm strength.

Bunch of Steinbrenners, i agree.

Pierre is one of the top lead off men in the game today. Probably only behind Ichiro, and you guys wannna trade him? He's in a funk! Yall need to get over it. Sure, he sets the tone for the team since he's hitting leadoff, but can't we give him a break for once! This guy is always giving his all, maybe now he's trying a bit too hard. Instead of ragging on him for not "setting the tone", rag on the other players for not picking up Pierres slack.

Bah, chemistry IS winning. You never see a team that sucks and someone say, "...yea but they have great chemistry". When you win, you have chemistry. When you lose you have nothing.
