Boog Sciambi
knowing the type of guy that AJ is, especially with him figuring that he's not gonna be on the team after this start, given that he makes it, do you really think he'll give 100% tonight? i would say no, except for the fact that either HE wants this trade done or he wants to go out there for his own recrod and ntry and get a W and strike out 27 batters

See what happened with the Scott Olsen start last time. 865348 this isn't a prediction, frankly i don't care what he does, i'm just saying him being on our ballclub the last fefw years we've got to know the player he is, and just wondered if people thought he'd give it his ALL

Flamarlins3
Just win the damn game, I don't care if AJ can't make it through the first as long the Marlins start their 15 game win streak today :plain
Accord
I hope he does well, just to maximize his last minute value.
PBMarlin
AJ commented that he would get ready to pitch even with all the trade rumors swirling. I expect he'll be ready, but I can see where he may be a bit distracted.
Das Texan
you honestly think there have been starts where he doesnt give his all? thats a shame 865362 for the record there have been starts where it doesnt look like he has been focused. whether you want to call that as giving it his all or not, there have been times when he hasnt been fully there. pierremvp1
The comment that he'll intentionally try to do anything less than 100% is not right. However, the distractions in his mind may not allow him to perform at 100%. But AJ at even 70% could translate into a great start. No way to predict what may happen. Personally, the thought of watching tonight's game looms heavy for me. It's like knowing there could be a train wreck sometime between 10-12 tonite, and lying a blanket down on a hill by the side of the tracks to watch it possibly happen. Guest Jack1
you honestly think there have been starts where he doesnt give his all? thats a shame 865362 NO pitcher or player goes out on the field not wanting to do their best. They certainly didn't get this far not trying. There have been more idiotic comments on this forum lately. It's starting to get on my nerves more than the Marlins losing! Unfortunately, baseball is a game played by 2 teams that are both trying to win the game. You can try as hard as you want, but there will be plenty of nights where either you don't play well and/or the other team plays better...it doesn't mean the team isn't trying. Felo Ramirez
He's been playing this whole year to get a FAT contract from a team like the Yankees at the end of the year, I expect him to do the same today...

wanks1212
He's going out like the A.J. everyone will remember - lots of K's, lots of walks, few hits, around 6 innings, around 120 pitches.
FishFan24
Oh he'll give it his all if he wants to prove that he's worth the big $$$ that he's going to be asking for. No way does he flounder tonight!
pierremvp1
You're all talking about him like he's an uncle on his death bed. It looks likely right now like that he'll be traded, but you never know. Beinfest has surprised us before. I don't see him settling for a Bigbie trade. We may wind up keeping AJ if the right deal doesn't come along. At least, let's not bury him and throw dirt on top until it's official.
Tek tC
AJ is (reportedly) in the middle of contract negotiations with potential trade suitors. Do you think he would go out in a game and not give his all when he is tryign to get every last dollar out of his next contract? Lock it up.
