Went to a Mudcats game... HERMIDA PICS and more!

Featured Replies

I went to visit my friend in North Carolina (he goes to NC State) over the weekend and we went to the Carolina Mudcats game on Sunday where they played the Tennessee Smokies (D-Backs AA affiliate)

It was a great game, had lot's of fun, but the one thing I HATE is that there is netting around almost the ENTIRE stadium, just like at some of those Japanese ballparks. We had great seats, field level row 2 row (for only $9!) then we moved to the upperdeck for a different perspective, every seat at the stadium is very close, upperdeck seats are almost as close to the field horizontal distance wise as the lower bowl seats which is pretty good.

Reggie Abercrombie made the absolute SICKEST catch in center field I have ever seen, this thing puts almost anything that Jim Edmonds has done to shame. It was one of the most athletic plays ever. Then he came up with a WALK OFF single in the bottom of the 9th inning.

Andino's lack of defense at short really showed, almost every ball hit to short went by him unless they were literally line drives right at him.

Anyways, here are the pics:

So much for Andino being the replacement for Sea Bass next year. Is he known to have poor defense or could it be he was just having a real bad day?

All these pics were taken on my cell phone too, I thought they came out pretty well for a cell phone.

When I went out to Carolina to visit my friend in the Marines, we decided to go check out a Mudcats game. Great little minor league stadium and a terrific atmosphere. Got to see Stokes and Willingham when we were there, it was a really cool experience. They had JP/Dontrelle Mudcats bobbleheads :)

nice little stadium despite the pain in the ass netting, and Hermida just gained more of my respect in having my number

Wow, I was thinking "Geez, his dig cam sucks" but that's pretty good for a cell phone

Is it just the camera, or is Hermida really that freakin' big?
