November 22, 200520 yr The Marlins should move to Charlotte.... They could be in the same division and would be close enough to the die hard fans in S. Florida.
November 22, 200520 yr I say good for you David Samson. Now get that team the hell out of Florida ASAP so the REAL rebuilding can begin.
November 22, 200520 yr I'm excited about the rebuilding process right now actually. It might be fun watching another young talented team progress right in front of our eyes. .... and get sold off to the highest bidder again! Yea....... it was so much fun before. :plain
November 22, 200520 yr At least Montreal can welcome back............... the EXPOS? :confused  I wish, but no chance in hell.
November 22, 200520 yr Le Batard: "By 2011 do you expect the Marlins to be here?" Samson: "I hope I'm wrong, but no."

November 22, 200520 yr but he claims, he is not in control and Loria is still the man David Samson is talking like Loria doesn't know what's going on Is he in control? I still have my doubts that Loria is in control Quite simple - Loria's ex-wife told her son (Samson) to tell her ex-husband (Loria) the gravy train is over & stop spending HER money on baseball.

November 22, 200520 yr We need a d*mn pro sports team in New Mexico, either Albuquerque or Santa Fe, I don't care. We just need a team.

They should just go on Jerry Springer and settle this once and for all.
November 22, 200520 yr It seems like Samson is not blaming the fanbase at all. Just the lack of funding. He said on 790 that he couldn't fathom another sports team having this much success but having such small fan support.
November 22, 200520 yr :lol Samson says it will only stop if he is fired. I've got a solution! :thumbup :thumbup
November 22, 200520 yr Would things be different if we would have made the playoffs? Yeah, he'd be even MORE pissed, because the Marlins STILL would have had crappy attendance up to the playoff games and the Marlins STILL would have lost money on the year and they STILL would be getting jerked around by a bunch of corrupt, local politicos on the stadium. This has nothing to do with the Marlins not making the playoffs. This has EVERYTHING to do with how LOUSY South Florida is as a baseball market. Quite honestly, South Florida is a lousy basketball market as well. They couldn't even sell out the tiny Miami Arena (and certainly couldn't sell out the AAA) until Shaq came here. The Marlins tried to do the same thing by bringing Carlos Delgado on board and the reaction? 28th in attendance, last in the NL.
November 22, 200520 yr Listen to that f***ing Cubs fan. He's just bitter the Marlins smoked the Cubs in the playoffs. :mad Some people are just assholes.
November 22, 200520 yr LeBatard is going to replay the Samson interview at the end of the show for anybody who's interested.
November 22, 200520 yr Things are what they are; I mean you cant fault Loria or anyone within this organization at all. They did yeoman's work to get things to work. They even brought a championship and nothing worked. Sometimes you just have to cut losses and move on...baseball is a business and any business constantly losing money does this. Not really shocking and cities are always wanting to make sure businesses stay in place by offering various subsidies, etc....Why? A baseball franchise and a stadium not only would produce the stadium but would increase a cities prestige in the eyes of various other things (if done correctly can tie in promotions with conventions and all) and provides jobs to people in the area in operating hte stadium and everying associated with the city. but people are too stupid to realize this often and we are seeing this is the case in miami.

I agree completely. Miami is once again displaying itself as the Banana Republic it is.
