June 20, 200620 yr Hope this hasnt been posted mods......... And strangely enough, BBTN did their feature on a night the Fish were not in action. Gotta give props to BBTN for stepping up and doing that. Harold Reynolds says Uggla should be in the All Star game. Harold is the man. :thumbup
June 20, 200620 yr What! The Marlins are still playing in MLB level! Why didn't anyone inform me this earlier!!!!
June 20, 200620 yr You can thank Tommy Hutton for PR the the Fish are getting right now. From what I understand he's been burning the phonelines the last ten days to anyone who would listen about the emergence of the Fish and especially Dan Uggla.
June 20, 200620 yr I turned BBTN on when they were talking about streaks and then all of a sudden I see some Marlin teal in the picture. Then Presley comes on. We are on a roll. Tommy Hutton :thumbup . Who has he been calling?
June 20, 200620 yr kewl signature Also what all did they say besides just that of Uggla? it is pretty kewl to hear
June 20, 200620 yr I also heard in the middle of the Yanks-Phils game last night, they were talking about how tough the AL East was & how Toronto will be right there, and then the color analyst (Sutcliff I think) gave a big congratulations to Joe Girardi and the Marlins, for beating Halladay & for the streak they're on. :thumbup You can thank Tommy Hutton for PR the the Fish are getting right now. From what I understand he's been burning the phonelines the last ten days to anyone who would listen about the emergence of the Fish and especially Dan Uggla. Now if the South Florida sports fans would just listen to Tommy too. He's practically begging fans to come out. (or at least trying to shame them into it, :lol ) I'm going to be veeeery interested to see if the crowds get any bigger after the NBA Finals are over, especially if the Marlins are still winning when the next homestand comes around. (I have my doubts :confused )

(I have my doubts :confused ) actually im surprised how good the crowds have been during the nba playoffs. If the marlins can keep this up, more people will go to the stadium. What people need to realize is that our attendance was going up every year until they butchered this team again. so now people need to wipe the blood off and start trusting again. Truth be told unless we're contending in august or later ppl wont go to the stadium bc of the uncertainties and idiocy that the general public beleives is going on w the stadium. (well the uncertainty is warranted)

(I have my doubts :confused ) I remember in 2003 Sutcliffe and I think Kruk both were giving props to Florida before the rest of the analysts. At least we are starting to get a little coverage. Also I was there on Sunday and although the crowd stunk, we made some decent noise for what we had. I would go more often but am in Naples.

From what I understand he's been burning the phonelines the last ten days to anyone who would listen about the emergence of the Fish and especially Dan Uggla. I think its remarkable what Preseley has done with Uggla. In the minors, Dan was more of a power guy. But Dan has become one of the all around best hitters on the Marlins this year. He stays back on the ball. He has great approaches against every pitcher he faces. Besides Uggla, he's done a great job with helping Jacobs get out of his slump. Its also apparent that his hitting philosophy is so much better for the team than Bill Robinson's was.

June 20, 200620 yr dead men > bill robinson in teaching hitting Hanley will get out of it eventually he got a hit recently and has been swinging better. I think he is partly in a slump from injuries. But Jacobs and Uggla have been impressive of late. I want to see Hermida get going finally still.

June 20, 200620 yr Just because of how good hanley has been--minus the slump, given his young age, i'd say that Hanely has a higher ceiling. However, don't be surprised if Jake can turn into a 30 hr hitter. He'll hit at leat 20+ this year.

Maybe not this year with that horrible start, but his power is without limit. It's just a question of if he can stay consistent enough to not go through the cold streaks. While it's difficult for a Marlin, he has 40 homer power.
June 20, 200620 yr Jacobs can still easily hit 30 homers...Homers tend to come in bunches. He has been hitting well pretty soon the dingers will be launching of his bats...BTW how has Uggla helped Jake?
June 21, 200620 yr You can thank Tommy Hutton for PR the the Fish are getting right now. I think its remarkable what Preseley has done with Uggla. Not to mention what Perry Hill did with Uggla.
June 21, 200620 yr jake is already a 30-HR type of guy. Question is does he have 40-HR potential without losing on base ability.
