August 15, 200619 yr Brian Moehler, Sergio Mitre (much more talent in the minors), Amezaga (might be decent off the bench but who knows), Joe Borchard (it's 50/50 if the Fish will keep him). I expect Joe Borowski, Matt Herges, and Wes Helms to move on and find other teams.....hopefully Girardi too. all in all, we just need to make a few moves and get a REAL CFer and we could compete to win the NL East!
August 15, 200619 yr Author I just hate it when the analysts give Girardi so much credit just because he was on the Yankees.....he really doesn't impress me at all. We have overachieved because of pickups like Dan Uggla! And that's all Beinfest and our scouts! Not Joesph.
August 15, 200619 yr im in the minority now...Girardi is a great manager and I think he should/will stay for his contract. The only guys I want moved are Mitre, Vargas, Moehler, and Reggie...we need a CF and we need some bullpen men.

August 15, 200619 yr Author I have no problem in bringing back Mitre Why? Why do you think the FO was trying to move him in a trade? It's because we have much more talent in the minors..... We'll have Carlos Martinez, Scott Tyler, Paul Mildren, Adam Bostick, Harvey Garcia, and Jesus Delgado who all have better stuff.

Harvey and Delgado wont be ready next year, KMart wont either... and where'd you see that we were trying to move Mitre? can't just have a team of all rooks and 2nd year players
August 15, 200619 yr Author Mitre is nothing special...he's like Wellemeyer (average to below average RP, ex: Nate Bump). Scott Tyler should be in our pen next year along with Resop if he can get his head screwed on and Travis Bowyer if he stays healthy. German should get another shot also.... Next year's pen could be.... Tyler Pinto Bowyer Messenger Tankersley German/Resop/Petit No need for Mitre. I have no problem in bringing back Mitre Why? Next year's pen could be.... Tyler Pinto Bowyer Messenger Tankersley German/Resop/Petit No need for Mitre. German is not on the 40 man roster and likely has no future with this organization Bowyer is still hurt and hasn't pitch since spring training (I believe I read some where he has started throwing again) Why? Why do you think the FO was trying to move him in a trade? It's because we have much more talent in the minors..... We'll have Carlos Martinez, Scott Tyler, Paul Mildren, Adam Bostick, Harvey Garcia, and Jesus Delgado who all have better stuff. Carlos Martinez - out to 2008 (at best late 2007 and he likely won't be 100%) Scott Tyler- good stuff but no control, this my friend is a younger version of Wellemeyer(but with bad make-up) Paul Mildren- I don't know how he has better stuff than Mitre. Lefty who tops out 89-90 mph who's best pitch is a change-up. MLB projection Lefty specialist Adam Bostick- Ready by late 2007 or 2008, still needs to work on control Harvey Garcia- ready late 2007 or 2008 Jesus Delgado- hurt arm (might need surgery again) hasn't pitched in like 2 months We tried to move Mitre, Vargas, and Pinto for Soriano.... It was actually Pinto, Vargas, Petit Mitre was never rumored
August 15, 200619 yr you'd be surprised. nothing surprises me in regards to this team/management anymore
August 15, 200619 yr Mitre has one very good pitch in his sinking fastball and that is enough to make him possibly a very good reliever - see Julian Taverez in his Cardinal days. I have no problem keeping a guy like him on the 25 man roster next year, he is also still very young. Joe Borchard, I am fan of his. I like the idea of having a switch hitting batter with tons of power coming off the bench. He also plays very good defense. He is the type of guy I want to pinch hit in a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the ninth against an elite closer with 2 outs. He will either strike out or connect to win the game. I like that.
August 15, 200619 yr Moehler, Abercrombie, Herges, probably Borchard. Helms and Borowski will leave because of FA, but I wouldn't want to dump them. I can't believe that Reggie has avoided even a day at either the AA or AAA level this season. Why move Vargas or Reggie?....they are 2 young players with good potential....if anything just put them in AAA for a while. I hope you're kidding about Abercrombie. He's 26 already, and his highest level before this season was High-A. Any potential he had is long gone.
August 15, 200619 yr I want to bring in a CF and some more relief help mainly. Or move hanley to CF and bring in a SS
August 15, 200619 yr We need a CF'er (Young and talented- not a hand me down from another team) and some bullpen help. To me CF is what is keeping the Marlins from being in the WC. Drop Moe and Mitre (No where to put Mitre). If one of our starters goes down we still have a few young ones who can take their place. So Moe and Mitre are really not needed on this team. Send down Reggie if he continues to make no progress. Keep Helms (Main PH'er), Fredo (Mostly used once/twice a week) and MAYBE Borchard.
August 15, 200619 yr People I would like to be gone : Moehler, Herges, Borchard Mitre is okay but I think the guy still needs time to settle into the role and get the mental thing going in his mind. I absolutely love the job that Wes Helms has does and the same goes for Amezaga u keeps those guys coming in on spot starts and fresh off the bench. Reggie you just cant give up on him, the guy just has wayyy too many tools, this offseason can really help him out. Especially for the fact that the FO recommended he now play some winter ball. Though we still need a proven CF for right now and put Amezage to back up Hanley to give him a day off and make him think about his mistakes like mentioned before. Starting rotation looks fine to me its the bullpen that is going to need some shoveling around. I love Joe Giradi, guy knows what he is doing. Yes he makes some bad mistakes but at least he likes to go by numbers also. Jack McKeon always went wit his gut and and in 2005 that crap must have been tricking him lmao. Keep Giradi around (obviously)
August 15, 200619 yr Moehler and Reggie should be dumped. Ross, Borchard and Herges could be okay as backups and middle reliever but I don't care if they stay or leave. Alfredo is okay as the utility IF so keep him. Helms and Borowski will probably get more $$ elsewhere and leave. I wouldn't give up on Mitre. He could be okay as a spot starter or 5th starter just in case some of the others go through sophomore slumps. Has anyone taken the credit for the stupid decision to bring him up after one rehab assignment when he hadn't pitched in about 3 months?

I think Reggie still has potential I believe....sure he won't be an all star but maybe one day he could have a Reggie Sanders or Preston Wilson type season. I was just wondering why some of your would DUMP him instead of just sticking him in AAA. We could use all the OFs we can get.
