3 free tickets for Wednesday's game for someone "lucky."

Featured Replies

Here's the gist, I'm in New York, can't find anyone to use my season tickets since it's the middle of the week and I'm superstitious as hell, so I'm prepared to be very nice.

Three free tickets in section 150 row 4. A $300 value at the box office FREE.

BUT

I'm going to give them to the "luckiest" person here. We need a win tomorrow, it's an absolute must.

SO, please just give a compelling reason here why you're "lucky" with the Marlins.

Never seen them lose this season?

A special good-luck charm for Anibal?

Bring out the best in Miggy?

Most compelling (and truthful) response gets the seats.

I may even bring in a select panel of judging by peers if it gets especially tough, and remember, this option could conceivably be on the table for the duration of the season for weeknight games.

So, let's go fish! And let's find someone lucky! :p

To make it fair, I'll let it run through tomorrow afternoon 'till about 2 or so.

I have my tickets, but if you need a tie-breaking vote, I have excellent judgement.

the marlins have lost every single game i have been to this year (about 8 or 9 games), so i guess you really shouldn't give the tickets. haha

Here's my reason, though it doesn't have to do with this season:

I've been to two Marlin playoff games in my life. Game 7 of the 1997 World Series, when the Marlins won in extra innings on a walk off hit up the middle, bringing them their first World Series title.

The other was game 4 of the 2003 World Series, when the Marlins won on a walk-off home run down the left field line in extra innings from Alex Gonzalez, in Roger Clemens' "last game" and Miguel Cabrera's turning point toward stardom.

I think I'm the luckiest fan because my only two live playoff experiences with the Marlins were the only two walk-off World Series victories in Marlin history.

If the competition is luckiest, I might not be but here is my reason. First of all, I just got back down here from school and was going to the game either way, dont have tickets yet. I have been a diehard fish all my life, going to the point of watching drafts and screaming over picks such as Aaron Akin. I still argue with my best friend about the Urbina for Gonzalez trade. I have always been pro Gonzalez. The only game I made it to D-Train beat Pedro and the Mets and I almost got in a fight with a mets fan over him telling me he wouldn't be seeing us come october. To the point, I have had a two year now running bet with another friend who is a Phils fan. 100 bucks to the team with the better record. Last year was the first year and he won, this year I didnt want to do it but I got him to give me 2-1 odds, now I am watching everygame like the winner gets my first born. I am trying to get my life started and 200 bucks would help, and the tickets would just be a hell of good time.

I say this is the winner.

The Marlins have never lost a game I have been to this year. I was so lucky at one Nationals game that I had a foul ball hit to the right field bleachers and I simply stuck my hand up in the air and the ball landed there. No effort. I'd say thats quite lucky.

Proof :)

I have yet to go to a game this season, but I had bought tickets a month or so ago to catch a game with my parents. My mom was diagnosed with Neuro-Cardiogenic Syncope and was hospitalized and we were unable to go to the game. She has been hospitilized on 3 different occasion with the least amount of time spent at the hospital being 5 days. She is doing much better now, they're regulating her blood levels(She got a blood clot after complications from a prior surgery 2 months ago) and she's on a heart monitor. She started going back to work and I'd like to relieve her stress a bit by sitting back and enjoying our Florida Marlins compete in the Wild Card race..

^Not a lucky story, just a sentimental one.

First off, TSwift, thanks so much for your generosity! :thumbup

Every game I've been to this year the Marlins have won (including the Boston game, where we ended their 10-game winning streak). I made a "Cabs=MVP" sign the other day and chanted "MVP" every time Miggy was at the plate on Monday. If I won these tickets, I'm sure I would be able to get Cabs' attention with my sign (and I'm sure he'll hear my MVP chants as well.) I am very into getting the MVP vote out for Miggy. I have an electronic license plate frame that scrolls "Cabrera for MVP." I went to the Marlins/Nats game (Miggy's 100th HR) by myself, after not being able to find anyone to go with. It was, to me, one of the most magical nights of the season. Just a die-hard fan since '93 who never misses watching a game. These tickets would be amazing. Hell, I would take just one ticket, and give the others to someone else.

ill get a marlins a tattoo with quite possibly your name on it ... or miggy's I guess

Ive also not lost out on any games this year since the marlins made their "run" and I was there when they beat SF to advance and game 5 when gonzo hit that bomb against the Yanks ... so im a lucky charm.

and ill bring chicks with skimpy outfits

i want to 6 game the season 2003 that their started with bad record and at end of season their want to wild card game. i was at game 4 of wildcard vs san franciso that their won in 9inning the point i getting too is that last time i want to more 6 game that year and this year i been to five game so i will tie that year so been good luck to marlins i go to games when their good or bad i not like some fans that go when their winning only so if my luck continue we be in wildcard game. i cannot go to many game because i am disable get my money once a month that when i go to game or my wife let me money

I've been to thousands of games and no Marlin has been injured at a regular season game I've attended.

Haven't been to as many games as I'd like this year, but the team has won all but 1 game that I've attended this season.

How are you going to get the tickets to the winner?

Will call.......?

e-mail.

Every team I root for succeeds. I've been a fan of the Marlins since day one and they have won two championships in a decade. I started casually rooting the ChiSox when they hired Ozzie, and they win a championship. I started to try and get people to rally behind the Heat back in '03-'04 and two years later they win a championship. I'm a walking good luck charm.

Here's my reason.

I've been to 7 games this year and we are 6-1 in that time. I've bought the same tickets from you before, Cabrera homered in that game, I believe.

Here is my biggest reason,

I was at the game and I called the homer that Abercrombie hit off Clemens.

I believe that I should win this contest because I am the most prolific table tennis player in my household. It's not just that, but I can make a mean peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Generally I like to stand, but sometimes I sit--it's pretty comfortable like that, you know? But whenever I put the car into reverse, my colored pencils disappear. Ok, so that one time I put my earphones on the porch light flickered a bit--but I'll be DAMNED if those frogs get stuck in the toaster oven again.

Basically, the best television shows are eaten with maple syrup--however, a pair of khaki shorts and pillow cases do the trick. Hehe, I heard your mom walked in on you pounding the sausage.....Yes.

-Lefty.

I've sat in the these seats before thanks to Swift and I have nothing but positives things to say about them. It puts you right in the game with an amazing view of the field.

Unfortunately, I will be at the game tomorrow but at a much more prestigious location. :)

all Im saying is that whoever gets these tickets, if we lose tonight, you should be banned till the next Marlins win

First of all, I second Ramp's proposal that said winner(s) are putting their "luck" credibility on the line, lol.

Anyway, if it's OK with both parties, I'm going to give 1 to Cabrera fan and 2 to Crau for him and his mom to use. Karma's always a good thing too.

If it's OK, could you two please PM me your e-mail addresses and full names, or if you prefer just respond here.

i should have told me Al Leiter no-hitter story... too bad i'm in orlando. congrats to the winners! have a great time.
