May 13, 200719 yr Jorge Julio was traded to the Rockies today. Post your final thoughts for Julio as we send him off to Denver.
May 13, 200719 yr A class act and an honor roll graduate from the Matt Perisho school for relievers. :thumbup
May 13, 200719 yr I appreciate the fact that he is gone. But was that really the biggest problem on this team that needed to be resolved? I don't think so.
May 13, 200719 yr I've never seen a guy look so bad in EVERY single outting before. Quite amazing actually. To be that bad takes skill.
May 13, 200719 yr I was one of the original 3 Julio haters, but I have to say that at the end I felt somewhat bad for him. Beinfest was so blinded by his man-crush that he was continually forced into situations where he couldn't possibly succeed. His departure does not make us better, nor worse, and as Jon says, he was hardly the biggest issue needing to be addressed as he could have been easily hidden if we were willing to back off from the insistence that he should pitch innings of consequence.
May 13, 200719 yr Para el carajo bola de mierda! :thumbup Hell fanofthefish, I'd personally buy my own plane ticket to Washington and help Julio pack his bags. I was one of the original 3 Julio haters You're soooooo cool! :notworthy
May 13, 200719 yr It was a wild ride, Jorge, one that I'll never forget. May Colorado enjoy your abilities as much if not more than we did.
May 13, 200719 yr I was one of the original 3 Julio haters, but I have to say that at the end I felt somewhat bad for him. Yep
May 13, 200719 yr I wish you well, Julio. You sucked something awful here, but I won't take it the wrong way if you go on to win the next 5 Cy Youngs. You just needed to go.
May 14, 200719 yr It was amazing how bad Julio was from the moment he got here. It didn't matter if it was spring training, closing, not closing, rehab assignments....just consistently bad. I don't think there has ever been one Marlin who did not look good in at least one outing somewhere in the organization.
May 14, 200719 yr u know julio really has good stuff it just sucks that he couldnt put it together which i wish he would have
May 14, 200719 yr Hope he has better luck at Coors Field....except against the Marlins Jorge Julio in Coors Field -- yikes. What's the all-time highest ERA for pitchers with over 25 innings, I wonder. Does this mean that Wild Marlin Man never comes back?
May 14, 200719 yr I just want to know why the heck he got the closers job in the first place....he was run out of 3 places last year, Baltimore, NY and Arizona and we HAND him the closers job.....bad job on this by Beinfest, that can;t be ignored.... just send Julio to Iraq
May 14, 200719 yr Jorge, all i can say is that i'm sorry anybody ever expected you to perform at any level better than AAA. I wish you well. You're a bad pitcher, but it's not your fault that you were pitching in the major leagues. Farewell and happy trails. Cheers to many years of dominance in some random minor league AAA stadium, amigo.
May 14, 200719 yr I was one of the original 3 Julio haters, but I have to say that at the end I felt somewhat bad for him. Yep I am the third member!
