5/23 Postgame

Featured Replies

It was a meh game. I rather lose like this then blow the lead late in the game. These are alittle easier to take. Go get them tomorrow boys :kiss.

BTW: 3-1 Astros in the 7th.

Strong against stronger teams.

Weak against weaker teams.

Is that kinda slump?

but, ATL-PHI-NYM gonna losing tonight.

At the beginning of the game, Tommy mentioned a quote by former Marlins skipper Jim Leyland.

"Momentum is only as good as your next starter"

Our next starter was Scott Olsen. He sucked. Our momentum went :thumbdown .

POSITIVES:

Weachter looked very good

Dan Uggla is 1 HR away from the Marlins record for a single month

Jacque Jones got to play

NEGATIVES:

We didn't come ready to play

San Francisco did

Barry Zito looked like a legit pitcher for a change

Brett Carroll proved, unfortunantly, why he shouldn't start

Bats were dead

Scott Olsen...I'm thinking of what it could be. Dead arm syndrome?

Losses like this happen to even the best teams...it is magnified when it is a team that is supposed to be a bad team, but is in first place. The naysayers have something to cheer about...

but we have to remember...the Yankees, Red Sox, Diamondbacks, Cubs, ect... all have losses like this every once in a while. You just have to wake up tomorrow with a clear head and be ready to beat Citizen Cain tomorrow!!!

I wonder how Zito's going to celebrate tonight.

Champagne?

Strippers?

Quiet reflection?

This was the only good thing to come out of tonight's game.

At least this game reminded us that the NBA Playoffs are on. :)

Every remaining team needs to die.

Especially the Lakers. :thumbup

Hanley is really disapointing me. On his next off-day, he should go over to his mama and eat some good ol' home-cooking. A Dominican without his usual dose of rice results to a deprived man.

I believe Hanley will be key on whether we win or not tomorrow. Hopefully we'll have a bunch of positives to talk about tomorrow.

One main thing that got olsen off his game was in fact the error in the frist by cantu

i like him and all but how many errors can cantu make i kno its not his original position but that was the second out on an 0 2 count where olsen had control

cantu can hit atleast but he HAS to improve his fielding cuz that will cost us in the stretch

on an up side dan uggla is still hot he makes me proud to where the number 6

Want irony? Cantu's error was his 10th of the season. Jose Castillo has made 10 errors in his entire career at 3B. Oh yeah and Castillo was the hitter when Cantu gave the momentum to the Giants.

1) No pitching

2) No defense

3) No hitting.

Its pretty easy to see why the team lost

Hanley is still not hitting. We NEED this guy to be the superstar if the Fish are going to win consistently.

And if Cantu is not going to hit, he better darn well not make these constly errors. His offensive output is not to a point where he can't be replaced by someone else with better defense.

Cantu is a bonehead for botching that grounder but an error by an infielder should not "get a pitcher off of his game".

Regroup, get your head out of your a** and throw strikes.

I've got to wonder, though. With the pitch count already above 70 and Waechter warm in the bullpen, why was Olsen sent out for the 4th?

bats were cold maybe because rain their were not but what hable have batting practice outside but gaint did not need it but what hit me. this second time this season we make bad pitcher look like all star

I could care less that we lost, b/c it happens. You're gonna win some, and lose some. 162 games in a season will do that to you.

I just hope Hanley and Pinto fix their struggles soon. We need both.

imo, jacque jones looked great. he seemed to have a lively bat and he seemed to actually hustle his ass off up the line

If he's the 1999-2007 Jones then I won't mind having him late in the order platooning with Ross. If not... well he's better than Caroll.
