August 3, 200817 yr It will air on August 14th. I included a duplicate poll here to compare how we voted to the picks on BBTN and ESPN. http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnation...B?event_id=3540
August 3, 200817 yr Gave mine to the Sheff. Always my fav and held many of the offensive records till Cabs came in.
August 3, 200817 yr Author Why the hell is Dontrelle a choice? I just copied the choices ESPN gave, the purpose of the thread is the poll they're doing for BBTN.

Holds all time Marlins record in wins, got first 20 win season for a Marlins pitcher, and he won ROY in 2003? Honestly I'd rank Beckett and Kevin Brown ahead of him, they meant more to the team even though it was in a shorter amount of time, and thats just if we're looking at pitchers. I can understand the argument against Dontrelle. But like I said, just copying the poll from ESPN.
August 3, 200817 yr Dontrelle may be terrible now but he did great things for this team while he was here. People are quick to forget sh*t.

About the only bad season he had was 07, and last year, he was the least of our problems. And he still went out there every day and logged more than 200 innings.

That said, I do love the D-Train.
August 3, 200817 yr I am sure Conine will get it, but I am a huge Mike Lowell fan, before and after his time with the Marlins.
August 3, 200817 yr How is Luis Castillo not on this poll? And what about CJ? One of the most underrated Marlins of all time, and he was a big part of the '97 world series team...even stuck around through the dark years after that. And he caught those no-hitters.

One of the most underrated Marlins of all time, and he was a big part of the '97 world series team...even stuck around through the dark years after that. And he caught those no-hitters. Just to make it clear, these are just the options on the ESPN poll... but I agree. CJ especially, doesn't get enough love, but his stats aren't that impressive. Marlins fans know though that he played a big role for our ball club before and after '97, and he also caught 3 no-hitters. And as far as who will win, among Marlins fans its easily Conine, but because its an ESPN poll I'm curious if enough people who aren't Marlins fans vote, a guy with better career numbers like Sheffield or who more recently played well for Florida like Cabrera, might win it. Nationally Conine isn't THAT impressive, he just seems like a guy with solid numbers who played for us a long time, but for us he's Mr. Marlin.
August 3, 200817 yr Luis Castillo was always my favorite marlin, but Conine has to be the greatest Marlin every, he is the epitome of what the marlins stand for
