Does Hanley finish the season with a BA at or above .300?

Featured Replies

yes, he is too good of hitter to stay in a slump for the whole season. He has had some good swings in this series, and I think he is coming out of it. I always say that big time players step up in big games. Hanley is a big time player, and I think he will step up.

I don't know. He is such a streaky hitter. His average is currently .291. Its possible, but he's trending in the opposite direction right now.

I think he's going to be right around the .300 mark. If his average is at .291 when he's slumping....it's bound to go back up when he gets back to normal. He's coming out of his slump, Uggla too (maybe, *crosses fingers*).....and has been going the other way pretty well. I think he'll get to .300.

His average can stay below .300, as long as he steps it up a bit with .RISP (in terms of average), and his .OBP is at a solid .370-.380, at the end of the year.

Also...he needs to stop bobbling baseballs. He really has a tough time transferring the ball from the glove to the hand.

I say yes, just because he has kept himself at .291 despite a horrible slump

He's been slumping for a month now, and he still hitting .291. Given his swing lately, I say he is coming out of it.

Yes, Hanley will hit over .300.

Although i've seen him hit the ball more to the right side as of late, I think he's been in the HR mentality for too long. As soon as he strings up a handfull of hits again he's gonna stop hiting the ball towards right and he will begin swinging for the fences. That's not gonna help his AVG. I think he will finish close to .300.

Hanley is way to good a hitter t o stay in the slump hes been in recently. That being said im sure Hanley will snap out of it and start ripping the way we all know hes capable of. Hes a big part to our team success.

Where is the "who cares?" option? I care more about his OBP and SLG, which are both, unfortunately, lower than last year.

Well his OBP is affected because of his avg. If he was hitting 330 like last year his OBP would be over .400

Very good point.

How is it a good point?

Everyone knows, or at least should know, that OBP is essentially batting average plus walks. My point is that OBP renders BA superfluous.

He Can and He Will

hes gonna eventually break outta this slump if u can call it that and finish at like 310 or above

a good question would be if Cantu can finish over 300
