November 20, 200817 yr Dick Kaegel, of MLB.com, reports Kansas City Royals 3B Alex Gordon could be dealt in the offseason, given OF Mark Teahen's ability to play third base. (KFFL) Just a thought. High upside. Affordable. Is it an option? If so, what could be given up for him? If not, why? Just want to get your feedback.
November 20, 200817 yr Jeremy Hermida for Alex Gordon? Just sayin, dont kill me. The Royals definitely don't need outfielders. The reason they want to move Teahen to 3rd is because they have an outfield surplus.
November 20, 200817 yr Jeremy Hermida for Alex Gordon? Just sayin, dont kill me. I'd do it and I drive the don't trade Jeremy Hermida bandwagon. I'd love Alex Gordon on this team!
November 20, 200817 yr I thought Gordon was their "franchise" player, the so called "Next George Brett"? How easy the tides have turned I don't see Gordon getting traded this season
November 20, 200817 yr Gordon would probably cost Hermida and then some. KC would be absolute morons to move Gordon
November 20, 200817 yr Author Is Jose Guillen signed this year w/ KC? Is it possible they dump him b/c of his high salary to make a spot for Hermida? KC just picked up Coco Crisp today. I also read that the Cubs are interested in David Dejesus. If he gets traded, a spot could be open.
November 20, 200817 yr Cubs are interested in DeJesus in return for Fukudome. Guillen has 2 more years on his contract: 09:$12M, 10:$12M Gonna be tough to dump that.
November 20, 200817 yr I don't see how this thread is titled "Alex Gordon Will Be Traded" It's an article that a WRITER -SPECULATES- that the Royals could move Alex Gordon instead of trading Mark Teahen, where trade talks have buzzed around. It's a WRITER'S, SPECULATION. not FACTS. not WILL BE TRADED.
November 20, 200817 yr Pass. Dominguez will be our future 3rd base man. Yea and he'd be perfect to slide in once Gordon becomes too expensive in 3 more years. Anyways it doesn't matter because NNY nailed it, here is the article - http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20...8&fext=.jsp Along with Jacobs at first base, the Royals also have Ross Gload, Billy Butler, Ryan Shealy and Kila Ka'aihue in the picture. And, given Teahen's ability to play third base, his original position, that could even open third baseman Alex Gordon to the market. :thumbdown
November 20, 200817 yr Author I am so very sorry for the wording of the title. I will now give myself the proper punishment for my indiscretion. I humbly ask for your forgiveness: :hanged
November 20, 200817 yr And the question is (besides the obvious) how many infielders do we really need? Or want? Unless we're rebuilding and parts were interchangeable for a season or two maybe it might make some sense but then you run into the Dominguez thing and you can't think of him at first unless you ignore how many players we have already at that position, and more coming. And as Nny points out, it's pure speculation.
November 20, 200817 yr How many 1B/3B players do we really need? If anything, the Marlins should go after a catcher or a corner outfielder.
November 20, 200817 yr Rambo Mcdonals is right though. It would be very stupid to trade Gordan. Just like it would be very stupid for us to trade Hermida.
November 20, 200817 yr Yeah, that's what we need. A team full of infielders...and 2 outfielders. Solid. Ahem...no thanks.
November 20, 200817 yr Jeremy Hermida Age: 25 ------------> Career OPS+ of 103 Alex Gordon Age: 24 ------------> Career OPS+ of 98 Pretty amazing how some of the same people who are anti-Hermida on here, are the same people who would love to have Alex Gordon. Let me guess...it's b/c of the effort, right?
November 20, 200817 yr only way we are getting him is if we are giving up a very nice starting pitcher (more then a tucker), think Volstad or Miller type of pitcher. I dont see it happening.
