Keeping track of former Marlins this offseason

Featured Replies

I had some time on my hands, so I decided to compile a list of former Marlins that are on the move this offseason and where they are heading. Please feel free to add contract details if they are missing or players I overlooked:

Astros - Signed Aaron Boone and Mike Hampton to one-year contracts, claimed Jeff Fulchino off waivers (from KC), and non-tendered Kool Aid. The Astros subsequently re-signed Reggie Abercrombie to a minor league contract and also signed John Gall to a minor league contract.

Blue Jays - Signed Matt Clement to a minor league contract and gave him a ST invite.

Brewers - Signed Jorge Julio to a one-year contract.

Cubs - Signed Chad Fox to a Minor League contract with an invitation to Spring Training.

Giants - Signed Edgar Renteria to a two-year contract

Nationals - Acquired Josh Willingham and Scott Olsen in a trade with the Marlins

Mariners - Acquired Jason Vargas in a trade with the Mets

Orioles - Signed Mark Hendrickson to a one-year $1.5 million contract

Rays - Signed Joe Nelson to a one-year $1.3 million contract.

Red Sox - Signed Brad Penny to a one-year $5 million contract

Reds - Signed Arthur Rhodes to a two-year contract.

Royals - Signed Doug Waechter to a one-year contract. Acquired Mike Jacobs in a trade with the Marlins.

Tigers - Signed Matt Treanor to a one-year $750,000 contract

Yankees - Signed AJ Burnett to a five-year contract and Sergio Mitre to a one-year contract with a team option for 2010.

Wow, I though Chad Fox was done for good. Didn't know he was even still around.

Is Preston Wilson still around?

As far as I know, no. He was signed with the Cards last year but didn't play at any level and is currently a unsigned. I don't know if he filled for free agency or not. I haven't heard anything about him.

Jason Vargas was traded?

Chad Fox signed?

Wow...who knew? lol.

Is Preston Wilson still around?

Yeah, he delivered my pizza yesterday

You sure that wasn't Reggie?

Nah, Reggie picked up my garbage.

Hey, in 50 AB's for Houston Reggie finally hit something, so that's good. Someone will pick him up.

50ABs, that were so stellar that he was released. He is a turd sandwich, hold the bread.

Nice touch.

Gotta wonder how you two do in the batting cages.

Yankees also signed that Iraqi that threw his shoes at Bush. 6 years, $50 mil. If he ends up going to jail the Raiders have the next shot at him.

But that's kinda off topic.

Imagine how AJ with his attitude, tats, and nipple rings is going to get along with GI Joe??? This could get funny.

Didn't Reggie re-sign with the Astros to a minor league contract?

Updated to include Brad Penny to the Red Sox, Mike Jacobs to the Royals (don't know why I left that out), and Mark Hendrickson to the Orioles. I couldn't find any news source confirming that Kool Aid was re-signed by the Astros after they non-tendered him, or anything on Gall going to the Astros.

Gotta wonder how you two do in the batting cages.

Gotta love dumbass comments like this. Where did either poster say or imply that they, themselves, were better at baseball then Reggie? When someone makes a comment like this, they are comparing someone to other major leaguers. When saying someone sucks, it's all relative.
