Lindstrom plays for my favorite team. He's never hurt me or my family. I root for the guy to succeed. That doesn't mean I have to be blind. He's an average reliever, nothing more. Always has been. This year he has sucked, despite the fact people don't like to admit it b/c pretty much everyone on here was super duper excited when he got put on the U.S.A. Team, thinking..."this is the year he'll really improve." Hasn't happened. People blindly love this guy. So much so that plenty of people actually believed he belonged on that U.S. team. I don't get it, and I never will. It's very much like the Hermida hate-filled posts (this being the opposite). It's undeserved. Gregg got so much crap while he was here, and now we have the same sh*t with a different smell...yet people never seem to admit it. Maybe it's b/c the season is still in June, and people only care about the all overrated "saves/blown saves" statistic when it comes to closers. I don't know. All I know is, there have been many "Hermida sucks" posts this year, just like there were many "Gregg sucks" posts last year. You rarely ever see a "Lindstrom sucks" thread...considering the guy has sucked this year, and we bashed our previous closer so much (a guy who didn't suck in his time here)...it's quite surprising.

Those 2 little sentences, at the end, could've been said for Gregg last August, yet they were rarely ever said. That's my point with the "undeserved hate." Regarding the comparison, the only thing I like more about Lindstrom is that he's not making undeserved money b/c of the overrated "saves" category.....yet. That will change once he goes into arbritration, though. I hope the Marlins are planning to do the same with Lindstrom, as they did with Gregg, once he starts asking for the millions.
June 19, 200917 yr 1.Like I said, let him pitch more and we'll see how he does. If he continues to put up bad numbers, then obviously we have to strip him of his closer role. 2. KG blew saves in August. That is the main reason for his hate. To some, like myself, he was the reason we didn't make the playoffs. We had a chance, till he sucked in August. I agree. If Lindstrom happens to run into 30+ saves this season, and commands say 2-5 million, he's gone.
