April 20, 200917 yr When will Bonifacio be joining the Zephyrs? I'm guessing by the end of the month ... mid May at the latest.
April 20, 200917 yr Gaby is doing kinda well in AAA too. Hitting .348 But he also only has two XBH (2b and a HR) and only 2 walks to 9 Ks. .348/.367/.435/.802 So his OBP and SLG are completely BA dependent at the moment. Ofcoarse we're only talking about an 11 game sample size and that should right itself over a longer period of time. Also I love that (atleast it looked like) Boni had a red light on a 3-1 count haha.
April 20, 200917 yr It will be interesting to see what happens to bonerface and maybin if they continue to stink.
April 20, 200917 yr It will be interesting to see what happens to bonerface and maybin if they continue to stink. I think Maybin stays and Fredo is the utility infielder.
April 20, 200917 yr It doesnt take long for fans to alter their opinions. Bonifacio goes from "WTF why is he starting on Opening Day?" to "OMG this guy is the perfect leadoff hitter!" to "AAA anyone?" in the course of just 2 weeks.
April 20, 200917 yr I would keep him on the roster. It makes our defense pretty darn good with him at third base. Plus, he can pinch run.
April 20, 200917 yr We're two weeks into the season, lets not get ahead of our selves... sure, he's struggling at the plate but everyone goes through those stretches... He is a plus defender with plus plus speed... if he learns how to take a pitch or two and work a count, it'll be tough to take him out of the lineup
April 20, 200917 yr I would say the reaction to his first 4 games was getting ahead of yourselves moreso than the reaction to his slump.
April 20, 200917 yr I would say the reaction to his first 4 games was getting ahead of yourselves moreso than the reaction to his slump. I'm not sold on him yet either but whats this talk of a band wagon... we're two weeks into the season. The wagon doesn't even have wheels yet. I didn't fly off the handlebars after the first 4 games... all i'm saying is give him more than a couple of series
April 20, 200917 yr People gained unrealistic expectations after the first 4 games of a player who has never shown much of anything at the plate. Speed is about all he has. His plate discipline is simply awful.

His plate discipline is simply awful. lately it has been awful... hopefully he can adjust to the adjustments teams have made on him... he still is leading (or near the top) on this team in Runs scored and is still batting over .300 I think you gotta give him a week or two more, at least, as the lead off hitter to see if he can turn things around.

Nny you forgot to mention he has 9 RBI to lead the team ,hitting 3rd & 4th on the team and a 10 game hitting streak
April 20, 200917 yr The question is, for me at least, if we continue to win at a nice clip, but he struggles, do we move him down in the lineup or send him down? Would Fredi and the FO want to "mess with what is working" overall?

April 20, 200917 yr He has been stinking it up with the bat of late, but I love the way he's played 3b. Has Gaby Sanchez ever played third base? I fear that if they stick Cantu at 3rd and Gaby at 1st again, the errors will return.

April 20, 200917 yr Bonifacio > Carroll, if you ask me. We can call Gaby up, and keep Bonifacio on the roster...on the bench, where he belongs.

I mean a true outfielder.
