NOW WAY!!!

I'll believe it when i see it.

Not sure how I feel about this...atleast he's not at the top but I hate having the pitcher earlier, maybe batting in the back of a good 2nd inning.

I like it especially if Coghlan continues to hit well at the top of the order.

This is the best thing I've heard out of this organization since we were 11-1. We expect very, very little of Boner...if he surpasses our expectations then we have a very fast runner on base for the top half of our order. If we get nothing from him out of the ninth spot, then we're pretty much in the same boat that we're in now....probably better, really, because he's no longer an out in the heart of our order 80% of the time. I think this is the best thing for this team. I believe we will see more runs scored as a result of this move.

Wow!!!

Hopefully our offense gets going with him down there but I'm afrad it won't make that much ofna difference.

I don't think it makes that much of a difference. Boni doesn't even get on base much more than the pitcher anyway.

exactly...that's why it does make sense. He isn't expected to do a whole lot at the bottom of the order....but when he does get on he then becomes a speedy luxury for the top of our order to move around the bases. It also takes that "out" out of the top of our order.

Wow.

He should only bat 9th when JJ is pitching (ha!). Otherwise he should bat 8th but whatever works.

No, that isn't why it makes sense. The point in putting a hitter 9th is to possibly have someone on base with the top of the lineup coming up, not have someone who rarely gets on base regardless of where you put them. I'd rather see other players get a chance to start and maybe bat 9th, but at least it's better than having him bat 1st.

Of course...the best place for him is on the bench, we all know that. If he's gonna be in the line up though, which he apparantly is, 9th is the best spot for him.

Bonfacio: .294, Pitchers: .129. Boni's on 2.3X more.

That said, there are things I like and dislike about this. I like that he's far back there, I like that with him on-base more, it give more possible runners for guys like Hanley and Cantu, not to mention Coghlan and Baker/Hermida.

I dislike the fact that the pitcher will come up earlier, both meaning they'll probably get more RBI opportunities and there might be more times that they come up in the 5th, 6th, or 7th innings when we'll have to PH for them earlier than we would have before.

Better than having him at the top of the order so whatever. Him and Coghlan back to back could be a good thing.

I like this. I've been saying this for a couple months now. Him not being here would be better, but fact is he is. If he's gonna be on the big team, this is the best spot for him, imo.

I would love to see this when we get back to NL style of baseball.

VS. RHP

1. Coghlan

2. Baker

3. Uggla

4. Hanley

5. Cantu

6. Hermida

7. Ross

8. Pitcher

9. Bonifacio

VS. LHP

1. Coghlan

2. Paulino

3. Hanley

4. Cantu

5. Ross

6. Helms

7. Uggla

8. Hermida

9. Pitcher

That might look crazy, but I think it makes sense. It'll never happen, but whatever.

The one thing I don't doubt is our team doing anything they can to keep Bonifacio in the lineup.

It'll be a bit of work, but you have to include the pinch hitting. Not sure how to get that split perfectly, but Marlins #9 hitters have a .218 OBP. It's just not 2.3 the amount.

Bonifacio is so bad I don't think this change would matter. To improve, they need to put Coghlan at 3B and anyone in LF/RF.

I have no problem with this at all.... Try it out... See what happens.. Give Couglan some RBI oppert.

It can't hurt, the only thing I would like more than him hitting 9th would be for him not to be hitting at all, at least until he comes off the bench.

Can we just get rid of the average players at the top of the order strategy? Bat Hanley second.

He should not be in the lineup.

Kind of a good point, but I doubt it will make that much of a difference. One bad thing is that he has been able to move Chris over into scoring position for Hanley and Cantu alot more recently, something that dosen't show up in the stats. But it's a move that I wouldn't mind trying.

Keep Gload in the lineup. That's all I ask right now.

You will be disappointed today then as Gload is not playing and Bonifacio is back. Quite frankly I think it is horrible management to not play Gload as he has been hitting extremely well recently.

We're facing a lefty. Gload will likely be benched for Carroll.

Bonifacio has a .300 split on lefties and is probably the right choice to start over most.

You could make an argument for playing Gload over the left-handed hitting Coghlan if you wanted.

Gload's line against lefties is very close to his line over righties (his average is actually better) and he's mashing right now. Bonifacio is hitting .204 this month.
