August 11, 200916 yr 4th win in a row. Oh yeah and Peter Gammons just said John Baker was in the movie Summer Catch.
August 11, 200916 yr Surprised no one has started one, considering this is our 4th win a row. Good win. Good managing by Fredi, keeping Don through 2 innings and pulling the plug on Matt just in time for another emotional save by Nunez. 2 balks this game, 1 from each side. 3.5 games behind the Phils.
August 11, 200916 yr The bats stay hot! BTW Nuñez is gonna hurt himself out there one of these days...He is hard to watch out there on the mound
August 11, 200916 yr 97 aint too many to go into an inning with IMO. With how "efficient" RVH is, he would have probably thrown 120 pitches even if he got a scoreless inning, in the 6th. It was the right move.
August 11, 200916 yr Just got home from an evening out, happy to see that we won, although it looked close at the end. Let's go for the series tomorrow!
August 11, 200916 yr Decent enough outing from RVH. Obviously it would be better if he could get to the 6, even 7 inning mark, but 5 frames of 2 run ball is fine, especially considering he wasn't on form last time out. I didn't see much of the game, but why on earth did they walk Nick Johnson to get to Hanley? That just seems...DUMB!

They also walked Gload to face one of the hottest hitters in baseball with the bases loaded. I didn't think that made much sense, either.

August 11, 200916 yr Great win. Although it became much closer than it should have at the end, it still was a good game. Uggla making the nice diving stab and getting the out, but then chooses not to charge at the soft grounder and drops it. Great play between Matt and Cantu too. They were able to score when they had to and keep the 'stros in check. Let's all hope for another win tomorrow.
