TheAnswer
http://deadspin.com/5480986/florida-marlins-the-team-that-time-forgot A wandering, silly argument about the marlins. Apparently Luis Castillo, Mike Lowell and Dontrelle Willis aren't remembered as Marlins. How lazy are fans if this is true?
Rabbethan
http://deadspin.com/5480986/florida-marlins-the-team-that-time-forgot A wandering, silly argument about the marlins. Apparently Luis Castillo, Mike Lowell and Dontrelle Willis aren't remembered as Marlins. How lazy are fans if this is true? I think the average fan totally thinks of Willis's 14 starts as a Tiger without ever thinking of a ROY, WS, 22-game winner in Florida. And Castillo, as Indian...wait no, Minnisota? I know it's one of those AL Central teams that wear red and blue. Seriously, it's a silly silly article from the start but Deadspin isn't exactly known for sports analysis. UltimateCabrera24
I agree that the article was stupid and dismissive, but nationally Luis Castillo is thought of as a Met and Lowell as a member of the Red Sox, whether you guys like it or not. I half agree. Lowell yes, but not even Met fans think of him as a "real" Met. He's thought of as a Met the same way that NJ was thought of as a Marlin last year, because that's where he played. When Castillo retires and non-Marlins/Mets/Twins fans hear his name, he'll be thought of as a Marlin.

merimeri
Yeah, that is pretty much the best "ha ha only serious" thing one can say about Marlins fandom; my friends told me about this site a few weeks ago when I asked if there were any active Marlins fan communities. I have no idea why the SBN Marlins blog is deader than a doornail, except for the fact that a lot of SBN baseball blogs are basically the land of statnerds and either only a stat-based blog is going to fly over there or there isn't enough of a community to get it started. I think we've discussed the Marlins bullpen more on the Brewers blog than on FishStripes. (I will freely admit I've finally been pushed into the periphery of Fish fandom not by constant friend enthusiasm, but the fact that McClung and Turnbow are in camp. Sorry...ok, I have been keeping track of Badenhop for a while.)

Of the sites I visited this one was by far the most active. Was nice to know there actually was an active online forum for my favorite team. Oh, and welcome to the board. all black marlins hat
The board is as active as it gets when it comes to Marlins boards. And although the feel of the members attitude has changed since I joined, it's still the best option by far. Admin has done a great job running this thing. And that article must have been written by another pissed off Mets fan for obvious reasons.
