Bret Hart
These are Andrew Miller's AA stats. Now, he'd suffered control issues. He allowed at least more than one walk per just one inning pitched. (2.43 WHIP at JAX) What is the problem with him? Is it some kinda intentional slowdown or psychologycal problem? I'm just worried about whether one player's career is almost over. Entendu
They HAVE to be tweaking him royally for this to happen. He isn't THIS bad. They must be forcing him to pitch with a plastic bag over his head and counting every time he reaches the point of asphyxiation as a base hit for the batter or something. gizmo
I don't know if he'll ever get his stuff together. Maybe not good enough to be a starter anyway. It's a shame really

It's a shame really Yeah its a shame as I thought he was a good guy too. But wow, those stats just don't lie. Looks like we ended with nothing for Miguel Cabrera. That too is a damn shame. Erick
He's got great stuff the man just can't throw strikes The man's "great stuff" gets hit, as well. Many people used to say this same thing about Matt Lindstrom. Maybe Miller is just a bust.
Anonymous
I still believe in him. We'll see, though.

Matt Lindstrom never had anything close to that kind of prospect status. Top 10 prospects without major injuries or off-the-field issues don't just become guys with a 10 ERA in Double-A.......It's beyond strange. Anonymous
I'm positive he's having issues confidence wise. He just seems like the type of player that fails because his confidence is so low.

I meant with the whole he has "great stuff" thing. He's probably going through something, or perhaps they're tweaking his mechanics, again. Quite honestly, he used to walk a lot of people, but never this many either. He's been walking A LOT of guys throughout, and now in AA he's walking over 1 per inning. Basically, the bottom line is that he's only getting worse. We can't even be positive about something and say he's been successful against lefties because he hasn't even done that. mystikol87
You're right about even his great stuff appearing hittable. I was more saying that I never thought Lindstrom had great stuff. I'm not sure if others did either beyond his extremely fast fastball, but maybe they did. Either way, Andrew Miller is a complete enigma. Maybe someone should write in to "E-mail Tuesday" or Frisaro's "Marlins Mailbag" asking why we are seeing such poor numbers; let's hope it's something we can't see on the surface, but I"m honestly losing that hope with every passing start. FutureGM
Those are some really, really horrible numbers. It looks even worse when you see how many more walks he has than strikeouts, and the fact that opponents are batting above .300 against him. I've long since resigned myself to the fact that Miller's never going to live up to anything resembling his original hype, if his career doesn't end before he can even make it back to the majors. Ya, Don't rush prospects.I know there was something strange in his contract with the Tigers that guaranteed early major league time. I'm sure him and his agent regret that now... Just think, miller only had one season in college with decent control, and that's when he had a mid 90's fastball that he could go after hitters with; and that was the season he won the college pitcher of the year. Unless there's something that can be done with his mechanics like they are trying to do to spark something that brings him to close to what he did that year, I doubt he;ll be around. What made him throw strikes in 06' with North Carolina!!?!
Hotcorner
sweet mary.... last outing 2/3 of an inning, 9 runs and 3 walks? glad I didn't go see that one.
Hanley2Ramirez
I don't know if he still has it but be used to throw 95 from the left side which is really good plus he had a really good slider and a pretty good changeup. I don't know if he lost it but he had good stuff
Schnellders
Let's call him up for a spot start and who knows, maybe the adrenaline of starting a MLB game at a big stadium will somehow enable him to rediscover his stuff and confidence.....
