The Yankees also offered more of a winning team

That too.

Call me crazy, but I would actually rather see Lee sign with the Nationals than the Yankees.

Ughhhhh.. NO!

I'd rather have to face him at most once or twice in the playoffs if we make it and play the Yankees then 5 or 6 times and it highly dimishes our chances or getting an extra 3 to 6 wins because of him.

I would much rather not have to face Cliff Lee and Stephen Strasburg for the next half decade.

I'd much rather face Cliff Lee in the regular season than in the World Series.

It's much more difficult to get to the World Series when guys like Cliff Lee are in your division. I've never even really heard that line of thinking before, to be honest. Normally, one builds their team in hopes that they make the playoffs before even thinking about the World Series. There are so many factors that contribute to reaching a World Series that it's almost impossible to predict.

I was joking.

Still, I'd rather have Lee on the Nationals instead of the Yankees because I don't expect Washington to go anywhere with Stephen Stratsburgh and Cliff Lee, anyway. The rest of the team, especially pitching, is still lacking. The Yankees, however, would make the WS every damn year with him and that would get pretty annoying.

Derek Jeter won the Gold Glove Award at SS.

lol.

Wow.

You know, it also came to my attention that Derek Jeter arguably hasn't been the best player on his own team since 1999.

With a -10, worst +/- for AL SS. The next worse guy was a -5. Cano also didn't deserve his. He was a 0 and there was a guy with a +12, a +11, a +9, and a +8.

Few rumours kicking around of a Cubs-Red Sox trade involving Fukudome and Dice-K.

Would this open up the chance for Boston making a serious run at Cliff Lee?

Trade has been made.

David DeJesus to the A's.

Vin Mazzaro & Justin Marks to the Royals.

Nice trade for the A's imo....they have enough young arms where they can let one go. And DeJesus is pretty damn good.

And who is Justin Marks? mid level prospect?

Left-handed pitcher in A ball (Marks).

As for the A's, if they don't have the best defensive outfield in baseball, it's definitely one of the best, right now. DeJesus is a solid player.

lol. The Gold Glove is the phoniest award in all of professional sports.

If Michael Bourn's offense ever matched his defense, he'd be one of the five tooliest of the five tool players in the league right now. +23 in CF is pretty remarkable.

Edwin Encarnacion was waived by the Blue Jays and claimed by Oakland.

Braves Outright Kenshin Kawakami.

Brian Bannister becomes FA.

I'm not sure why but I always felt a bit sorry for Kawakami in that his ERA was ok at 4.32 (not good but acceptable) yet over 2 years he was 8-22.

Buster wins ROTY... i'm shocked they actually got this right after Torres was screwed out of a gold glove and Posey got screwed out of the Silver Slugger

I disagree with you. Posey was amazing but McCann played an extra 35 games. I'd agree if Posey had been called up earlier. They were similar offensively too, McCann with the higher OBP by almost .020 (out of 1.000) and Posey with the higher SLG by almost .050 (out of 4.000). Posey's OPS+ was only 6 points higher than McCann's.

Oh, and Andres Torres wasn't even CLOSE to one of the top 3 outfielders, I don't know if he's in the top 20-30.

Posey also played 30 of those games at 1B. That should be taken into account. His #'s in the games he started at 1B were better than his #'s when he started at catcher, as well (although, both #'s were impressive).
