Tigers sign former Rays reliever from 2010, Joaquín Benoit.

Strike 1 against the Rays 2011 season.

I doubt their fan will miss him.

That was so funny I forgot to laugh...:deadhorse

It's especially funny because you bring it up more than anyone, so we now have no choice but to mock you.

I'll give RF1998 some cred from the 1990s allusion though, bringin' me back to my childhood.

If you love it so much, why don't you marry it?

To think Felix has already played a part in 6 major league seasons is pretty insane at 24 years old. The main thing that stands out in his stats is his reduction in WHIP the past 2 years compared to the previous 2 (1.38-1.39-1.14-1.06). It is a shame his talents are somewhat wasted up in Seattle.

Are the Baseball Writers of America blind? Or Just plain dumb?! How did Price not get the AL Cy Young Award?! And how did someone with 13 wins get it?! If Price can't win it with the type of season he had and facts his stats for the season produced, then I'm afraid the Cy Young, for at least this year, was little more than a popularity contest. David was wrong in his interview, the best pitcher did not win. I hope he was only make good public statements, shame on you BWAA, shame on you! :banghead If I'm in the minority in this I don't care, Price should have won, or at least CC Sabathia, 13 wins on a Cy Young when he's a starter is inexcusable.:thumbdown

And I would like to point out that 30 of his 34 starts were QS and he only had 13 wins. That's how bad his run support was. He 1000000000000% deserved it more than any other AL pitcher.

If nobody watches him pitch, do those outings count or did they never happen? :mis2

Let's compare, shall we?

Hernandez: 2.27 ERA (1st), 249 2/3 IP (1st), 232 K (2nd), 70 BB, 1.06 WHIP (2nd), .212 BAA (1st)

Price 2.72 ERA (3rd), 208 2/3 IP (13th), 188 K (6th), 79 BB, 1.19 WHIP (11th), .221 BAA (5th)

Sabathia 3.18 ERA, (7th) 237 2/3 IP (2nd), 197 K (8th), 74 BB, 1.19 WHIP (10th), .239 BAA (12th)

but because Price and Sabathia beat Hernandez in one stat, only because Hernandez had the worst run support of any pitcher in baseball, on the team with the worst offense in baseball, one of them deserves the Cy Young?

Tampa Bay averaged 5 runs a game....Seattle averaged 3.2... Hernandez had an average run support of 3 runs/ game... Price had average run support of 5.3 runs/ game... that accounts for about a dozen wins... give Price Hernandez' run support and vice versa, Hernandez wins 23-25 games while Price wins around 7-9 games

BTW, the Yankees averaged 5.3 runs/ game, 5.7 when CC started...

HAHAHAHA! Wow. That was terrible. I love that the guy you're defending doesn't even agree with you. I love that by your point, the guy you're defending shouldn't have even won.

Man.

Cue the 5 page argument about attendance.

You're right.

It's clear. Not only is Price>Felix, but Garza is better, too (Garza had 15 wins).

It doesn't matter that Shields had an ERA over 5 because Shields was just as good. (13 wins)

Jeff Niemann and Wade Davis are almost there too, with their 12 wins.

Terrible job by whoever gave Felix the award.

Well, you know what my uncle always told me: better to sound like a smartass than a dumbass.
