Vlad's going to Baltimore. i'd think that puts Luke Scott in LF. Pie's going somewhere. how do we get him?

We go down to Denny's and pull him out of the case. Duh.

Milledge is available as a F/A...not that I really care

where are you folks going to play Coghlan?

Watertown's got a point. You don't go get a talent like Pie unless he's definitely starting.

Matt Dominguez doesn't have to start the year on the big league roster.

wouldn't the marlins be delaying his arbitration years if he spent the first 2 months of the season in the minors?? it would make financial sense too or am i totally wrong on this??

Coghlan at 3rd. get Helms out of there

I'm going to go on the record by saying that I don't think that Dominguez is ready. If he doesn't have a subpar spring, he won't hit when he makes it to the majors.

I love that we're discussing arbitration timetable for a guy who has hardly even learned how to hit in AA yet.

We were doing the same thing with Stanton last offseason.

The man's got a point.

Man, I forgot just how bad Stanton hit in AA before 2010. .231/.311/.455 in 70 games.

Scary what he does after making adjustments. Almost a .100 point increase in BA from 09 to 10 in AA.

Except Stanton had actually dominated in the minors before then.

Excuse Matt Dominguez for not being Mike Stanton.

+1.

So you're changing your standards. Stanton had not learned how to hit at AA at this time last year, which wad your original point.

wait, sarcasm or no?

watertown has actually made sense the past couple of days....

Regardless, it wouldn't have been a smart idea to call Stanton up before he had mastered minor league pitching, just like its absolutely ridiculous to think that a guy who has merely treaded water in AA could be our opening day starter. Next.

The problem: there is no next.

People here really don't respect the idea of defense, do they? Coghlan at third base is a scary thought to me. Dominguez may struggle with the bat, but he's going to help a lot defensively.
