March 10, 201115 yr I feel so sorry for the guy. I think he should try to resurrect his football career by playing in the CFL. Then, 3-5 years from now, come back to the NFL and give it another shot.
March 11, 201115 yr He's also 36 (but with some fresh legs). 35 is the new 30. Which is lucky for me since I'm 34.
March 12, 201115 yr This is all so complicated. Also, I keep reading reports that Free Agency can start tomorrow.
March 12, 201115 yr Author Nope. The only thing that happens until a deal is done is the draft, and even the players drafted can't sign with their respective teams until after a new CBA is drawn out.
March 12, 201115 yr http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/03/11/source-free-agency-could-start-at-midnight/ It's stated in this article.
March 12, 201115 yr Author Well there's been conflicting reports all over the place. I heard from ESPN and a couple blog entries I've read that the only activity that will be conducted until a new CBA is in place is the draft. Really doesn't matter anyway, as nobody is going to offer anybody a contract until there's any certainty about whether there will be a next season. It's in the hands of the NFL owners right now. If they show their financial records of the last 10 years, negotiations will restart. Since that won't be happening, this is going to court, and the NFLPA is gonna sue. A deal is going to get done, no question about it. Too much money is at stake here. The question isn't if there will be a season, but just how long this "lockout" is truly going to last. EDIT: http://sports.yahoo....ionimpact031111 Guess Free Agency will just be slightly delayed.
March 12, 201115 yr I havent kept up with many of the details, so what are the current % chance estimates of a season being played as normal this year?
March 12, 201115 yr Nice, so we FA and the draft to look forward to, at least. Except if they do the draft without with an agreement, there is no trading picks for players or future picks for 2011 picks. So we wont see much trading, if any.
March 17, 201115 yr Mallet.. talented strong arm Quarterback troubled by character questions.... when did this work out for Miami in the past? :whistle
March 18, 201115 yr Mallet.. talented strong arm Quarterback troubled by character questions.... when did this work out for Miami in the past? :whistle That is true, lol. Also, It looks like Blaine Gabbert could go number one overall.
March 18, 201115 yr Mallet.. talented strong arm Quarterback troubled by character questions.... when did this work out for Miami in the past? :whistle You may have forgotten that they(and a bunch of other teams) passed on drafting Randy Moss for that reason. And look how that turned out.:whistle

March 22, 201115 yr Is the NFL seriously considering not having kickoff returns anymore? What's the point of that?
March 22, 201115 yr He's also 36 (but with some fresh legs). 35 is the new 30. Which is lucky for me since I'm 34. And by the time you're 35 40 will be the new 30 so no worries
March 22, 201115 yr Is the NFL seriously considering not having kickoff returns anymore? What's the point of that? Reinvention is the way of the legend.
March 22, 201115 yr Is the NFL seriously considering not having kickoff returns anymore? What's the point of that? No, that's not the rule. Unless you were joking. The rule is KOs will be kicked from the 35 yard line. Touchbacks will still be at the 20 yard line. The two man wedge remains in place. Also, all scoring plays will be reviewed, and the coaches can keep their third instant replay challenge. http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Instant-replay-kickoff-rules-voted-in-by-owners.html

March 22, 201115 yr What's the point of that? Kickoffs are far and away the most dangerous play in the sport. If you want to make the sport safer, getting rid of kick offs goes a very long way towards achieving that goal.
March 22, 201115 yr Wait, was Erick joking about that or was he serious? I didn't heard anything about it.
