Has anyone noticed that the color behind the FLA on the TV score display is black instead of teal.

is this a move to signal a phasing out of teal??

Yesterday David Samson was seen wearing a maroon tie. I feel this could be a sign that red may replace teal.

Yesterday David Samson was caught with no briefs on. I feel this could be a sign that the players will play in the scud.

lol guys im just saying, its been how many years now that there has been teal on that display and then all of a sudden in the last year as the Florida Marlins they remove the it.

It's no secret they're phasing out the teal. Hell, they've been doing that for years. I'm still pretty confident black and orange will be the new colors. Black, obviously, is pretty universal, but there is too much orange showing up on Marlins stuff, for a team that doesn't have orange as a color. I will be shocked if those aren't the colors.

To me, the orange is now a reluctant part of the Florida Marlins. Rebranding the Miami Marlins and having an all-new color scheme means we're gonna lose the orange (along with the teal). If not, then the Miami team and the Florida both would have the ugly orange and that isnt considered a smart way to rebrand.

No, it means we are signing Wade Boggs out of retirement!

That will be crappy. Those are already taken by San Francisco. Orange I understand, that's for the Orange Bowl tribute, but this is a tropical place, where you should have bright tropical colors if anything. Teal made such good sense. We are the Marlins, a tropical fish, the teal represents the sea. Black ? What does that represent in Miami ? I hate to see what responses that gets :lol

or Craig Counsell, so he can run at midnight.

I agree completely. I, personally, like the teal. Its is different. There aren't many cities that can pull it off. But I base my prediction strictly on colors that are showing up more and more on Marlins related stuff for about 2 yrs now, including the website.

I think this pretty much sums it up for the colors. It even includes the new stadium rainbow. This directly off of the Marlins site. There are many more examples.

After looking at it....i wouldn't hate doing black, orange, and teal. I know the teal is gone though.

Those aren't going to be the colors. You're insane if you think orange, yellow, blue, red, and black will even remotely describe our palette. First off, thats a sh*tload of colors. Second, they're f***ing ugly.

Like someone posted earlier, the ballpark's logo and the team's logo are two different things. Maybe the ballpark is going to be all fruity, but I highly doubt Loria has bad taste.

As far as the dominance of orange. If they're phasing out of teal, what other color are they going to use to represent the Marlins in the meantime? Black? That's not a color, and a black and white sign is useless marketing-wise. So far they've got those fruity colors for the stadium - which they are using, but those will not going to be the team's uniform colors. I'm not saying the orange won't be in the new uniform; I'm just saying that you guys are buying way too much into something that's supposed to be top-secret. What makes you think the colors are already posted somewhere on the internet?

Green, Blue, White/Black is where I'm placing my money. Definitely the Blue and White. That's slick, and it's prevalent inside the stadium.

I don't think the rainbow pattern is going to be our colors. I was the one (or at least one of the ones) that said the rainbow pattern was just the new stadium marketing logo. I was simply pointing out that it was incorporated into the picture. I think it will be black and orange. And yes, i know technically black isnt a color, but i believe that will be it. What sense does it make to phase out teal, incorporate orange, then take out orange, and go to new colors? Why wouldn't they just leave stuff the way it was until we change? By the way, i"m not down with black and white, but don't say it can't be done....White sox. Ugly as hell, but it is being done.

Oh, lol. Then you're not insane after all.

As far as Black and White, I just meant the uniform colors. It wouldn't be both black and white at the same time. I'd expect the logo to be blue, green and white, though. Orange was part of our website since before the stadium got approved - just minimally. I just think they've found the only other viable color already used and started to replace teal with it. The other colors are black and silver, but can you imagine them building a website with those colors? I honestly don't think orange will be in our uniforms, but there's a higher possibility of that than red, blue, green, yellow, orange, etc. being all part of it like some people here are suggesting.

Going back to the FoxBox, FSN Midwest was also using white on black for us on the bug.

you see!

  • 2 weeks later...

Apparently, FSN isn't even using that FoxBox anymore, they unveiled a new one today.

Given the colors, I don't think they could would use black as a primary color for us, since it would blend in with the box.

We'll see tomorrow!

P.S. All the teams playing right now use red or blue.

that is a horrendous score display. reminds me of the CBS football display.

i thought the one from last year was simple and clear.

I actually like it, I was never a fan of that square thing in the corner (I liked the FoxBar better), it looked like it belonged in 2001.

Also, you mean it's like the Fox football display, which makes sense as it probably comes from a similar template:

CBS uses a top bar.
