Good for them. It's an absolutely retarded name, and you remind me of my filthy roommate who harvests flies on his desk. Nobody cares about the Rays, and everyone thinks that's an incredibly stupid name.

You don't hear us preaching 'Marlins Monarchy', do you? No, because that would be stupid. Everything about the Rays sends shivers down my spine. Especially this, and especially the fact that you're proudly promoting such a stupid name. Try thinking of what you're about to say before you say it. You just might sound stupid.

/end rant about my roommate and you're reminding me of him right now.

:lol

Would it be antisemitic if I also said that I hate the 'Just Jew It' kind of people? I mean, while I'm ranting about my roommate I might as well go further. Yeah, he's a lame Rays fan, too.

Now, I have absolutely nothing against Jewish people from a religious point of view whatsoever. Religious freedom, power to the people, yeah. Just quit being a hypocrite about your religion. Getting a tattoo of the star of David? Really? Oxymoron much? Congratulations, you're getting Bar Mitzvah'd. Do you know anything about Judaism? I think not.

It's a religion, not a sports team. Cut the crap.

Jews, Tattoos, BooHoos, Shoes, Glues, etc.

(it's actually an NY Times article)

But the edict isn’t true. The eight rabbinical scholars interviewed for this article, from institutions like the Jewish Theological Seminary and Yeshiva University, said it’s an urban legend, most likely started because a specific cemetery had a policy against tattoos. Jewish parents and grandparents picked up on it and over time, their distaste for tattoos was presented as scriptural doctrine.

"Raysist" is extremely clever imo hahaha

Bah, whether or not it's not 'official' it is now. It's well accepted amongst the Jewish people that they don't do it. And he knows that. He's just a hypocritical asshole.

Who grows flies on his desk. And sleeps without bedsheets because he's gross.

OMFG this was hysterical! The bold part was my favorite line!

What I hate most about the Rays "fans" that I know is their blatant admittance to not knowing much about baseball or their team but all rocking 2008 Rays gear and then trashing my Marlins love with comments about attendance and fire sales. Seriously, some of my friends have done that either seemingly unaware of their own abysmal attendance or just freaking stupid.

I'm grumpy when I wake up at 4:30 a.m. and I can't sleep :lol

I even went to the lengths of going to the gym at 6:00 a.m. without any sleep. Funn.

Damn.....I just got "Marlins Monarchy" tattooed on my chest....

Is it wrong to like the Rays as an AL team....? In fact I like both the Rays and Red Sox and even have a jersey of both teams....

I have always thought that liking more then one team in a sport was lame, separate league or not. But that's just me.

A whole lot of difference between like and support

Their whole existence up until a few years back was a giant fire sale - except without the actual presence or selling of any good players.

There is? OK...I've always thought "supporting" more then one team in the same sport was lame. If a team plays my team, or could potentially play my team, then I don't like them.

I went off on some Rays fans back in 09 for not knowing sh*t about their own team's history behind 2008.

And yeah, I've started to hate their fans too. They have some weird complex, they act like Yankee fans without the history of winning.

Also, it's worth noting that the Federated Rays of Micronesia is a more apt name.

Some of us have a reason for supporting two teams (which I support the Marlins and Astros).

I find Marlins and Rays fans taking barbs at eachother to be completely precious. The teams are virtually identical in the way they are ran and how they are set up. The only real difference is that the Rays are much better drafting.

Actually, the only difference is that the Marlins have actually won something of significance. Twice.

But, you know, who cares about that.

Alright. I just can't wrap my mind anound how that works...but that is your right.

I couldnt care less whether or not the Rays, or any other teams I like such as Boston win or lose their games. Its just I dont mind them, and prefer them to teams I dislike, such as the Yankees etc

I wouldn't say the Rays are much better at drafting. It's a lot easier to hit on draft picks when you have top 5 picks for 8 of your first 10 years, including 4 1st-overall picks.

The difference is the fans. Rays fans seem to have a massive inferiority complex, probably brought on from being the 2nd team in Florida (to a low-market team) and being constantly door-matted by two of the biggest franchises in the game for a decade.
