Admin
No roster move yet but it'll be him.
FutureGM
They should have gone with Sampson, he's decent and has a good amount of MLB experience. Who really knows what Hand will do? We need some wins now.
I Love Me Some Fish
Wow...very interesting. Would this be considered rushing him?
Sirspud
Wow...very interesting. Would this be considered rushing him? Perhaps...but he doesn't have to be up here for the long haul. As it is, this guy was highly rated when he was drafted, and he seems to have talent, so I'd rather have a spot starter with talent than one with experience but no talent. AnonymousAnomaly
Can't imagine him going very deep into the game. A few innings out of him would be nice.
GoFishGoMs628
6 innings 3 runs or less, that is all I ask of you. Thats still probably too much, oh well.
Rabbethan
For the record, he's being throwing about 6 inning, 2 run ball down in AA.
MarlinsLou
This also shows you how much confidence, or lack there of, they have with Koehler
mystikol87
This also shows you how much confidence, or lack there of, they have with Koehler This. Hand is such a baby. Hopefully he doesn't get "broken" (if that actually happens).

mystikol87
4.57 FIP in AA, by the way.
Admin
I approve of this move. After today it's clear that our starting pitching needs a hand.

AnonymousAnomaly
So he's not on the 40 man. Just to clarify, does that mean that nobody has to come off because John Baker and Murphy are on the 60 day dl?
Michael
If he does great, can we refer to his good start as a "Hand Job"?
SilverBullet
If he does great, can we refer to his good start as a "Hand Job"? All of his strikeouts will be the Hand Job. That way we are almost certain to get multiple hand jobs per game.
mystikol87
I sure hope he can handle all the pressure.

LordMagnus
I realize we dont' want to rush Josh Johnson back, but man we realllllllly need him. I hated how Beinfest made it sound like we have all the time in the world.
Michael
If he goes yard will he get a big Hand from the crowd?
fanofthefish
I can't find the thread, but I suggested this a few weeks back! I've seen this kid pitch, he has a very good make up and body reminds me of JJ. He should do well for at least a few starts.

Hand is 6'3 (maybe) and 200.
dim
I'm not in favor of the move just because Hand is still 21 years old and this won't be just "a spot start". The Marlins alluded that whoever was going to start Tuesday would be here for quite some time (aka more than just a start). Hand was considered a 2012/2013 guy, to give him the start Tuesday seems to me likes he's a bit rushed. I would've personally liked Vilanueva to get the start. I Love Me Some Fish
What does he throw? I've never seen him pitch, nor do I know much about him.
