Edwin Resigns!

Featured Replies

bringing back mckeon would be very interesting but edwin deserved mu7ch better than this.

I like Edwin, but he botched what he deserved when he couldn't put together a win or even a offense.

[/b]How bad does Nunez feel right now after that failed save and extra inning loss, ha could have turned the team around or given them hope atleast.

One blown save does not make the team hit with RISP. It wouldn't make them practice harder. Nor would it make them play harder.

If the above is true and they just weren't listening to him and carrying their part of the load, he did the right thing.

Hopefully Edwin gets a managerial job with a real team one day.

He had one. And evidently the players wouldn't listen to him. Another case of kids knowing more than their elders? Beats me, but if an above post is true then it points that way. And if so I hope they bring in somebody that kicks butt without asking too many questions and shows these children what being a boss means. Evidently, being friends with them dosen't work.

No, this isn't a real team. Just a bunch of talented kids who do whatever the hell they want, apparently.

When it rains, it.... rains harder?...

Anyone else shocked by this statement?

LOL

I think this really is rock bottom now, at least I hope.

Thats the funny thing about rock bottom. You always think you're there until you manage to keep falling

i'm preparing for a 1998 level baseball, and that my friends is rock bottom.

When it rains, it.... rains harder?...

Then the flood gates open

No. 17 of 18 was bad enough I thought is was already a flood. What more could it be?

BRING BACK JACK!! :thumbup

Can you imagine what it would be like to have another miracle year like Trader Jack did for us?

Bring Back Jack...and Just Say No To Bo!

This really sucks. I feel bad for Edwin. However, I assumed sooner or later he'd be fired. I know he wasn't technically fired, but eventually something like this was going to happen. At least he got an opportunity to manage in the big leagues and hopefully this won't be his last.

This was bound to happen. Edwin was a good manager who was pressured to step down based on circumstances. Now Bo Porter will come in and we will all have tons of fun!

I look forward to seeing Rodriguez get a real managerial opportunity soon. The Marlins manager job isn't a long term job.

I feel sick that I truly think Bo Porter will be our manager heading into 2012.

This is very sad. Hopefully Edwin gets a chance somewhere else.

He deserves another chance but this time with a team that actually plays like they want to win

That's a shame. He was not the problem. He'll get another chance by a team/FO that actually wants to win.

Statement from Edwin:

“This morning I offered my resignation to Admin Beinfest and the Marlins, and they accepted. I am grateful for the opportunity the Marlins gave me to manage at this level. It was a very hard decision for me to make, with the positive way the organization is moving; a new ballpark next season and the young core of players that this team has. I can’t say enough about the effort that this staff and these players have put into this season. I could tell that they continued to give 100% effort each and every day on the field. I wish this organization, staff and players nothing but success in their futures.

Really think his name is big enough to enter as the manager in new stadium? Could the name continue to banter about to appease MLB? (please don't take that as any slight)
