June 19, 201115 yr it was inevitable. Edwin is a class act, I wish him well wherever he goes. This team sucks.
June 19, 201115 yr I can honestly say I'm sorry for the Marlins and their fans. At least we've got two championships to fall back on.
June 19, 201115 yr I can honestly say I'm sorry for the Marlins and their fans. At least we've got two championships to fall back on. And the new ballpark and secure future. So yeah, we don't need your pity. We'll be fine.
June 19, 201115 yr Statement from Edwin: “This morning I offered my resignation to Admin Beinfest and the Marlins, and they accepted. I am grateful for the opportunity the Marlins gave me to manage at this level. It was a very hard decision for me to make, with the positive way the organization is moving; a new ballpark next season and the young core of players that this team has. I can’t say enough about the effort that this staff and these players have put into this season. I could tell that they continued to give 100% effort each and every day on the field. I wish this organization, staff and players nothing but success in their futures. He can say it as nicely as he wants, because he is a genuine person and he is kind. In reality this team is garbage and he probably couldn't stand the fact that he couldn't fix their suckage, he did all he could. I hope Ozzie comes in, looks perfect for the job right about now, rip someones head off.

That wasn't really his statement, to be fair.

I haven't given up on this team yet, there young, and they have proven they can compete for an extended period. If they get out of this soon, and they bring in the right guy we could have 2003 2.0.
June 19, 201115 yr we will not win with chris volstad pitching like he does most of the time. with vazquez wes helms and ricky nolasco showing up when he feels like it. will not win with hanley batting .200 and johnson on the dl either so i dont expect things to improve very much.

Yeah, basically. Not to mention Stanton and Morrison hitting less than .200 with .RISP.
June 19, 201115 yr Unfortunately, someone had to pay for the prolonged slump and being manager, inevitably it would be Edwin. A shame, but hopefully the new guy can bring in some fresh ideas and reinstall the winning mentality

A shame, but hopefully the new guy can bring in some fresh ideas and reinstall the winning mentality I really want someone who knows how to manage the bullpen better. Edwin has driven me nuts this year with how he uses our relievers.

June 19, 201115 yr This is mind numbing. Three + weeks ago this team made a complete 180 degree turn for the worse. Today we see no signs of this trend reversing. A well respected hitting coach and manager are gone. If the players did not perform for Edwin (who was well respected and a good manager) what type of manager is needed to turn this thing around? The kind of "respect" Edwin was afforded no longer got the job done. What kind of manager is needed now?
June 19, 201115 yr according to clark spencer and frisaro Loria's preference is for mckeon and that a manager will probably be in place for tomorrow night.
