7/3 Post Game

My last streak was the SanFran sweep. Hopefully this current streak is longer. This team can win 2 of 3 from Philly now. No lee and halladay helps.

Which unlucky pitcher will get to face Hamels?

Houston has bad pitching except for Wandy Rodriguez. We could win 3 out of 4. When we play Houston next which unlucky pitcher will get to face Rodriguez?

Again? After just facing tough Gallardo, Jurjjens, Hamels, Shields, Cahill? He's screwed.

nice to see us finally score some runs for a change and a nice game by bonifacio.

good series win and would like to see this continue but the offence must stay consistent.

i think we are going to see a much improved bryan petersen.

Game 7 of the World Series, who has to face Jon Lester?

Reading the Texas press, I can only conclude that Ron Washington is gonna get fined, big-time:

However Texas first base coach Gary Pettis believed Dunn balked on the play and began arguing with first base umpire Angel Hernandez. Hernandez ejected Pettis, who continued to argue, which brought out manager Ron Washington. Soon thereafter, Washington was ejected as well.

"I must have said something I shouldn’t have and I guess Gary did too," Washington said. "I was out there to see what went on with Gary and he said something to me and I said something to him and next thing I know I was gone, too."

The Texas skipper didn’t have a positive performance review for Hernandez.

"Angel is just bad," Washington said. "That's all there is to it."

You cannot trash an umpire in the public prints like that and get away with it. Bud will not be happy.

Washington pulled the classic Hank Bauer-like manager-act of jawing with the umpire about 3 inches from his face while gesticulating wildly to sell the idea that you're terribly upset to the fans, a tried and true formula when more often than not they were discussing where they would have dinner that night.

My favorite manager anecdote is the opening line upon accosting an umpire for a call: "Is that it? Is that the best I can expect or are you going to get better?"

:lol

I think it was Hank Bauer that said it, but it could have been any of the many other crotchety old managers in the '60s like Casey "can (or was it can't?) anybody here play this game?" Stengel.

Sorta like Jack.

For what it's worth, the 3rd to first move where Gaby almost got picked off looked more like a balk to me than Dunn's play.

I completely forgot about that play....Gaby was dead meat....thank you Mr. Lowe

imagine if vazquez keeps this up... :o

He would be on pace to lower his ERA below 4.00 and Loria would think about signing him for 2012. Vaz may have some more bad starts along season, but I say he ends year with a 4.50 ish ERA. For his shake, I hope it is below 4. Dude is really bringing it as of late. Should be on again vs Houston.

Or, maybe we could actually get a B- starting pitching prospect in A+ somewhere. That would be a great result.

And I know he has a no-trade clause, but I would think he would like to be traded to a contender.

McKeon wants to win...he would curse out Loria if that happened...on ESPN. With no 7 second delay.
