MrMarlinPride
With all the issues going on with the organization this year and the lack of production on the field would any of you consider possibly trading Hanley Ramirez and making Mike Stanton the face of the franchise along with J.J.? I know Hanley is arguably one of the best players in the league at one of the most important positions in the league but why not trade him? He's very injury prone, causes unneeded drama and has been lacking in production and could only get worse from nagging shoulder issues. I'm not saying go out and trade him now but more of a hey why not see what we can get for him, preferably proven MLB talent and a prospect or two. What are your thoughts on the idea of possibly trading Hanley?
FishFan88
Since his remarks about the desire to stay with the Marlins for his entire career, and enter the hall of fame as a Marlin...he endeared himself to me and I no longer want to trade him. Granted I don't know if those remarks were genuine, but long term anything (except losing)in SoFla is rare so i appreciated hearing it. LordMagnus
As far as I'm concerned, Mike Stanton is already the face of this franchise.

knuckleball93
As far as I'm concerned, Mike Stanton is already the face of this franchise. This ^^^^ Speaking to children at a baseball camp I attended, they all knew who Mike Stanton was, his swing, everything... they treated him like a chuck norris-like legend. Hanley being traded would screw up any of the casual fans we have though, so I do not see it happening, unless we trade him for a superstar type player and bring another in for 2012. I'd much rather trade Morrison, whose big mouth stirs up too much IMO.
fanofthefish
If anything Hanley may resent he's no longer looked at as the face fo the franchise, that may effect his play. Do I think the Marlins should trade him? absolutely not. Moves need to be made but this isn't one of them also its hard to look at JJ as a face of the franchise when his face has been seen since May! bobbob1313
The BS pop psychology about Hanley is really annoying. There's no way anyone can honestly think he's playing worse because "he's not the face of the franchise." that's so spectacularly silly. I agree, why is everyone so quick to make Hanley the villain now? Hanley hasn't talked sh*t about anyone as far as I recall. And no, you don't trade Hanley because he's at his lowest value right now and we would get nowhere near a fair return for him,
Dr Beinfest
There's nothing wrong with having TWO great players with Hanley and Stanton.

Rabbethan
If it's between Hanley going out there and playing well or Lomo going out there and then taking potshots at Hanley, I'm keeping Hanley. If anyone is causing the drama, it's Logan Morrison.
dom2613
Id consider trading JJ and Hanley if both have crappy seasons next year or injury filled ones. I'm still high on LoMo. Obviously he needs to grow up a bit but he is also only 22 or 23.

If anyone is causing the drama, it's Logan Morrison. And it's not to say Hanley is innocent. But you have to be non-confrontational and you need to strive to work and cooperate as a team. If you've got off field issues, nobody should hear about it. Morrison ultimately is the one creating the problems, even if Hanley is a tough character to get along with. I bet Hanley is probably tough to get along with sometimes but we've all had coworkers like that. There's really very little reason Lomo has to take it out the way he has. BroncoBob27
I'd rather trade Logan Morrison. 6 months ago I would have said it was a silly idea to trade LoMo. But now? Nope. And it's not all to do with recent developements. Hill has worked his majic with Gaby at 1B. Made him into a very decent defensive player. Not GG caliber, but pretty acceptable out there. And that kinda makes LoMo expendable.
