2011-2012 Florida Panthers/NHL Thread

I'm pretty sure Tallon isn't dumb enough to let the Luongo situation interfere with helping the top-6. He knows the team could use more scoring. The only reason why we haven't gotten a top-notch forward is simply because the team has an internal budget and couldn't afford it either way. + the players in free agency this offseason kinda sucked with the exception of Parise and some others.

I'm sure it also hurts that most of these big FA names are looking for 5-10 year deals which I'm sure Tallon wants no part of, what with guys like Huberdeau, Bjugstad, Howden, Shore, Petrovic, etc being ready and with the club in the next 2 to 3 years.

I really want Luongo back, but I just don't know how it will work out for Markstrom. Even if we send Theodore or Clemmensen back to Vancouver as part of the trade, Markstrom probably won't be happy playing backup for the next 5+ years. To be fair though, we don't even know if his knees will ever stay 100% either.

I HAD A TASTE OF THE PLAYOFFS AND I DON'T EVER WANT IT TO GO AWAY.

Having two great goalies is a good problem. Either of them can be trade bait in the future. That's not a big deal to worry about right now or within the next two or so years.

The taste better not go away.

I feel like luongos contract will just handicap us too much. Unless viner wants to dish out a little more.

I think tallon should address the offense first and then if he has room he can go after Luongo.

Luongo's contract ain't that big, actually.

Well damn. I expected to wake up at 1:30pm today to news. That's why I slept in.

Theodore's unwillingness to waive his NTC is whats holding up this deal. I just want this done already, one way or another.

I don't blame Theo. He more or less wanted to retire in Florida as a Panther. Maybe they'll take Clemmensen instead. He makes the same amount and will be a backup to Schneider anyway

I might actually rather kep Theodore a trade clemmensen. That would actually make more sense for marks from though clemmensen is the natural backup.

Im just so hesitant with Luongo because you have to ask how many good years he has left on a 10 year deal.

I thought Theodore had no say in this. If the Canucks aren't on his list, he has no say, right? ESPN reported that the Canucks weren't on his no-trade list.

I don't believe that's how they work. When they produce a list that's exceptional, but at any point a player can waive his NTC/NMC.

And Theodore never actually said no. That appears to be rumor spreading based off of speculation that Theodore saying no could be what is holding this up.

I've just been on the Canuck site and I was just reading some of the trades the fans were discussing with Florida. I really hope they are just shooting off at the mouth. Some of the suggestions include any combinations of Huberdeau, Grabranson, Bjugstag etc. for Luongo. Please tell me these people are crazy to put my mind at ease.

Try not to get banned again.

Mods on HF suck.

Panthers signed Michael houser to an entry level contract. Best goalie and player of the year in the OHL.

However, he has a club foot though it doesn't seem to hinder him much.

And the lack of activity is really getting on my nerves.
