I'm all for it as long as we don't have to give up alot. He has much more power than Sanchez, and I think he will improve our lineup. Maybe they would do a Coghlan for Morales swap. They need left handed bats, and their outfield is getting really old and ineffective with Wells, and Hunter. Just a thought.

if there's one thing the Angels don't need besides 1st basemen its OF's

If we were in AL team with a DH spot we could rotate high upside hitters to, I'd be all for it. But a guy who hasn't been able to play in two years and really only had one breakout year before that is no guarantee to be better than or equal to Gaby, and I don't see this worth parting with anyone for.

Isn't Gaby Cuban-American? home grown player, played in Miami his whole life.... I'd rather keep him at first. Unless we're getting a great return..... Which is unlikely....

if i had to guess i could see a team like the Rays taking on morales (no idea what his $$$ is so that would obviously be a big NO factor if it's high)

 

they need some thump in their lineup and would be more valuable to a team like that where he could DH if need be

That's not what tendering means. It just means they gave him a contract for this upcoming season and he'll be going to arbitration.

 

We'll be doing the same with Anibal (unless we give him an extension) and Boni, for instance. It has zero to do with trades.

Well, in all fairness to him, they probably are tendering him just to dangle him around for someone else to grab. The Angels have said Trumbo will take groundballs at third, but will that really happen? I would have to think they're going to take Morales into ST, let him perform and show he's healthy, and then deal him for a better return.
