Anibal Sanchez and Omar Infante traded to Tigers

Just saying but at 11.5 million the marlins better trade Ricky before Johnson. If we trade josh idk wtf our rotation will look like next year.

If we trade another starter IDK wtf our rotation will look like NOW.

Assuming they get rid of Nolasco/Johnson

Johnson/Nolasco, Buerhle, Zambrano, LeBlanc, and probably Sanabia. If those later two fail, Turner, Hand, and presumably another AAA starter acquired in another trade are all in AAA.

Wouldn't be an issue. They'd get through the year and get guys starts to see where they fit in for next season.

Assuming / Hoping they dump Nolasco and keep JJ, who do you see in the rotation next year besides JJ and Buehrle?

Turner and then no clue.

I read jays fans talking about an Escobar and Hech. Anyone know about either?

f*** yunel Escobar.

Yeah, now that i think about it I think they were talking about him and Adiney Hechevarria, another ss.

If Hanley is traded I hope it's to the Blue Jays, talk about jacked farm system.

What could we realisticly get back? I know nothing about their farm.

Travis d'Arnaud a catcher who was already known to have above average defensive skill showed a lot of power in 2011 and is tearing it up with AAA Las Vegas he has a OPS percentage near 1.000 and his batting average is .333, he's about as close to major league ready as you can get with not being in the majors. That being said I'm sure the Blue Jays wouldn't be willing to give him up for just Hanley, it's stupid to assume they would it would probably require someone else like a JJ, which also probably isn't going to happen.

They have a tall left handed starting pitcher in Justin Nicolino and scouts believe he has room to grow still and say the sky is the limit, he has an above average change up and a good breaking ball.

Assuming LoMo ever goes back to 1B and we are able to put a better defender in the outfield your looking at two outstanding athletes in Jake Marisnick and Anthony Gose. Marisnick is still in the lower levels of the minor league system and isn't hitting particularly well but he is supposed to be a 5 tool player. (But so was Hermida) Gose is a better athlete and has great speed and great defensive skills. His problem is with the bat but he's still really young just 21 and already in AA.

So realistically I would say one of those outfield pieces and one of their lower albeit very large farm pieces, tons of starting pitching. As a Marlins fan it might take more than just an outfielder though maybe a high end SP and one of those outfield guys, I don't know just an idea. Marlins need to play the "change of scenery" card though if they are going to move him.

Blue Jays are not trading d'Arnaud, he is their heir. The Marlins also now have two decent catching prospects with Brantly/Realmuto. Catcher isn't the # 1 target. The Marlins have longterm OF corners settled with Yelich and Stanton, getting a corner outfielder isn't a smart idea. Likewise, they will have free agency money to spend and the best bet among bats this year is CF (Hamilton, Bourn, BJ, Melky, Victorino). There is money for that, that's the smart expenditure. Basically, they don't need OF.

If they trade Hanley, they need a Turner level pitcher who can slot in immediately in 2013, and decent secondary pieces that are sooner than later preferably 2B/3B/RP candidates. It would also make sense to insist Nolasco is on any deal to shed his payroll.

So basically a Jarrod Parker or Brad Peacock, looking at the teams in the mix for Hanley those would be the only players that would have a chance to be major league ready by next year. Toronto's farm is all young pitching and Boston doesn't have pitching, so we are basically hoping the A's want Hanley. I want them to want Hanley.

What's our long term solution at 3B now? Any ideas.

As in talking about Us getting Yunel?

f*** that, We supposedly be trading one attitude for another if we sent them hanley.

The way I took it, they thought we would ask for one of the 2 and they would rather keep Yunel.

I fully expect LeBlanc to be a starter come next year and I could see Sanabia too if another major league ready pitcher isn't in the mix via trade.

Turner, whoever they get back for moving Hanley/Nolasco which has to be another young starter, and a free agent starter on a 3 year deal (which they can afford moving all that payroll)

Have to see what they get back for Hanley/Nolasco, but this might catapult to organizational need # 1 (assuming they get a CF which I find a foregone conclusion this offseason because so many are available and they have money).

That's ok though. Patching the rotation longterm, and being able to internally promote Yelich/Brantly/Realmuto into starting spots, means money can be spent on bats.

This sounds ridiculous I know (also wondering if anything similar has happened before?):

As he is a free agent in the offseason, could the Marlins sign Anibal Sanchez to a multi-year deal. This season is a lost cause but we've added a potentially really good SP from the Tigers in this trade and technically still could have Anibal next year.

I could say its possible, especially if we miss out on anyone we were really trying to get.

It happened with Cliff Lee two seasons ago. He got traded to Texas by the Phillies, and then resigned with Philly in the offseason.

I would like to see the team bring back Anibal, he has developed nicely these past couple seasons and the team has failed behind him, not because of him.

Brantly is 2 for 2. Bring him up :plaindance

:|!

With 2 RBI.

He's already more productive than Buck!

Buck can't even hit a Buck. :|

(or just barely)

He's actually almost hitting two bucks.

Unless "a dollar" equals 2 now.
