JJ Rumors

JJ wants to stay near Oklahoma or California so I doubt the FO would pull of the stunt and send him to Toronto.

The fo can't cater to jj's demand if it meant getting a good haul from Toronto

True, but from all the good he's done for our organization, it would take a heart made out of steel to do that.

I agree, I guess it's time to shift our attention to toronto and their prospects. I can't see the brewers passing up on the rangers offer. Especially with Toronto's ace Romero struggling this year they may feel more inclined to give up alot for jj

Not really. This is a business and the Marlins have to look out for their best interest first and foremost. Ideally you would like to cater to JJ's request but not at the risk of being undercompensated.

Well, we'd have to see where Greinke ends up. If he ends up anywhere outside of Toronto and Arlington, then I say we stay firm on receiving a package around Lawrie, Syndergaard, and Marisnick. That way, if they were to decline, we have just go back and take the Rangers offer of Olt, Perez, and another prospect. Definitely can't go wrong there. I say we wait until Greinke is traded first since it's already clear that he's going to be moved.

Why would toronto give us lawrie?

That's the point. They wouldn't unless they were desperate beyond belief. If they were to reject (which is most likely) we'd have the Ranger's deal to fall back on.

Even I'm thinking that logic is moronic.

Because one team won't give us what we want, we'll go to another team because THEY will?

I don't know if the Rangers have offered that deal, but if they have- then CHEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Yeah- that's exactly how trades work.

Lewis out for season! Texas needs a starter and they WILL get Greinke! Make Toronto pay or take Texas offer now if it's real' but make them take on Bell. I can live with Nolasco staying at his current rate.

I don't think they'd get Greinke as a rental for top prospects over JJ for a year and a half for top prospects. If that were to happen, then that pretty much sums up the luck we've had all year.

And considering that there are no compensatory draft picks for losing a player after half a season, that even adds more to JJ's Value since there are picks if they were to lose him next year if they were to not extend him.

perez, olt, leonys. just imagine our outfield, yelich, leonys, stanton. that's pretty good.

Solid.

I think you are over estimating Josh Johnson's worth, but its fun to pretend.

how about olt, leonys martin, and niel ramirez?
