If the marlins and Arizona were doing some sort of mega deal. We would have heard something by now

John Buck, Scott Cousins, Gaby Sanchez, sign and trade jorge julio for mike trout and pujols, according to my sources.

I doubt the marlins do much.

Mujica to cards according to gammons

For Beltran?!

No, wait ...

Actually, for who? Allen Craig could be interesting, possibly.

As a third baseman. Muahahaha.

HOLY SHITT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO COX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mujica for Zachary cox

The Cardinals acquired reliever Edward Mujica from the Marlins for third baseman Zack Cox, tweets Peter Gammons of MLB Network.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS ZOMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGg

Who the f*** is Cox. Full me in good people.

Instead of talking to the diamondbacks for a mega deal we're doing deals with Edward f***ing Mujica...thats so marlins

Hes a third baseman

Zack Cox Ranks 10, in MiLB's top 10 3B prospects for 2012.

As the best college hitter in the 2010 Draft class, Cox pretty much did what the Cardinals hoped he would in his first full season, hitting for average and jumping on the fast track by reaching Double-A. He looks like the type who will continue to hit over .300, maybe even compete for batting titles. He did hit 10 homers after his promotion, but it's unclear just how much power he'll have long term. Without a clear defensive home initially, it looks like he should be OK at third. His bat could have him ready for St. Louis within a year. A concussion sent him to the disabled list at the beginning of June, but he returned within a week.

According to fangraph, the 5th best prospect of the Cardinals organization.

5. Zack Cox, 3B

BORN: May 9, 1989

EXPERIENCE: 2 seasons

ACQUIRED: 2010 1st round, University of Arkansas

2010-11 TOP 10 RANKING: 2nd

The Cardinals’ first pick of the 2010 draft, Cox was considered one of the top pure hitters available. He proved that by hitting more than .300 and reaching double-A in his first full pro season. Although he should hit a stout .280-.300 as a big leaguer, there are questions about his power potential. His isolated power rate was just .139 after his promotion to double-A but he does show solid gap power and that could improve as he gains experience and learns better pitch selection. There are also questions about Cox’s ability to remain at third base due to modest range and so-so foot work. Some have suggested a move to second base but he’s not the most agile. A corner outfield spot might make more sense, although range could become an issue again. The former first rounder could receive an opening day assignment to triple-A and will soon be breathing down the neck of incumbent third baseman

Are the Cards on Drugs? Why would they do this? ( or is this kid damaged goods?)

This is a huge steal for the marlins.

This guys legit. Makes up for Matt Dominguez's loss.

but why would they trade him for Mujica, we know how "good" he is, I guess we win this trade.

Originally a pretty good prospect but has faltered so far this year, let's see what he can do. We didn't give up that much, but he'll at worst give us what Hanley was giving us, less power a little more hitting.

Check out his stuff, he has a .716 OPS this year in the PCL. He'll need more time. More like a 2013 call-up...

The worst that could happen. On the plus side, he KNOWS his position.

This could work out
