January 22, 201313 yr I think the marlins will have about 12 more wins then last season.what do you guys think?.better or worse record?
January 22, 201313 yr 12 more wins based on what? I suppose its possible they win more if people play out of their mind but 12 games better is out of the question for me.
January 22, 201313 yr For us to win 12 more games, Stanton will have to up his game a little from last year and Hechevarria, Brantly and Turner will all need to be at the top of the rookie class. Don't forget you have AAAAers like Solano and Joe Mahoney and old guys like Polanco and Pierre starting on this team. Not saying it can't happen but unlikely. I'd put it at about 90 losses. It'll be a very similar record.
January 22, 201313 yr Don't forget, there's a whole new coaching staff that may have a decent influence here. Redmond was very successful in the Minors in his two seasons as a manager. Let's hope that carries over, as well as Tino being able to teach these guys how to hit properly.
January 22, 201313 yr I think that an 81-81 season is very unlikely. They'll probably lose 93 games again +/- 2.
January 22, 201313 yr I'm hoping for a bounce back season for Lomo and Stanton stays healthy. At this point, LoMo would just have a breakout rather than bounce back. Not much for him to bounce back from, ya know?
January 22, 201313 yr I think gizmo was referring to his rookie year. But I don't know how you could consider that a bounce back.
January 22, 201313 yr I think that an 81-81 season is very unlikely. They'll probably lose 93 games again +/- 2. Exactly equal referring to the topic title... meaning exactly equal to last season.
January 22, 201313 yr Pitching will be the key and the new Marlins are sorely lacking in 2013. Hopefully the usefull experience needed to improve a very young staff will accompany the coming pain.

January 22, 201313 yr After a 100 million-dollar-bust that won 69 games, who cares? These guys will be fun to watch, no matter how much they lose. If they somehow manage to hang in there past June, they might even be exciting. I'll be watching every game, all the way to the end. Expecting the worst, but hoping for the best.

So a ball club that sucks is more exciting to watch because they make less money than other ball clubs that suck?
January 22, 201313 yr Well, OK. My point was that this assortment of guys is going to be fun to watch because they might surprise everyone, never mind how little they're being paid.
January 22, 201313 yr I also feel that watching youngins develop -- and speculating about their respective futures -- can be a lot of fun.
