Casey to DL, Skipworth promoted

Believe it or not- id like to see Thome in a platoon with Giambi at first and Rolen at 3B so we can slide Polanco to 2B.

That would make Solano the UTIL IF.

Two lefties platooning? That's odd.

Also Rolen didn't play in the spring and is considering retirement so either way he's probably not season ready.Old men need rest, 4 games for one, three for another. Kinda what the Rockies did last year with Helton and Giambi.

Rolen, can play gold glove defense in his hoverround.

I wonder if Kyle Blanks of the Padres is available? From what I have read he is finally healthy. He could be expendable for them since they have Yonder Alonso.

He had a very good spring but since they have a full outfield and Alonso a first he was optioned to AAA Tucson.

They probably wouldn't give him away for cheap since he's still only 26 but he's an interesting player.

Skipworth is on the ball club now.

What a joke.

Why? The whole thing about sending him down is so he would get his playing time and wouldn't sit on the bench. Oh, what does it matter anyway.

Retirement home lineup.

LOL I was thinking the same thing. And it certainly would silence all those who say we have a bunch of nobodys in out lineup :sleazy

The joke is Kyle Skipworth on a major league roster. I actually defend this franchise when people tell me they think it's a triple-A roster, but with players like Skipworth on the team they're absolutely right.

he's fine defensively. it's really not all that much worse than someone like Matt Treanor.

He's not even the backup, they've had a bunch of injuries and are scrambling.

I mean it's a mess but whatever, it's a lost season anyway.

Hey let's just give the kid his chance, and see what he can do. Maybe he'll catch some lightning in a bottle and be worth a few weeks stay on the roster.

Go Skip, prove 'em wrong !

CARLOS LEE, GUYS!

I went in to Lids Locker Room the other day and they were still selling his jersey. :lol

Now that's funny :haha

#Marlins right now have Coghlan, Valaika and Olivo taking grounders at first base

Two guys who have never played the position and one who has only played five games at it in '06? Seriously? Kearns/Dobbs was a fine platoon last year. Just use that.

It's not like any of those bats are too good to keep out of the lineup.

Saw Skipworth hitting during BP, he's got pop. Bombing them upper deck in RF. Although Dobbs has been solid at 1st so far, maybe they can turn this kid into a 1b. I dont know why they didnt pinch hit him this series either.

I wouldn't mind him getting at bat.
