5/6 Post Game

Featured Replies

Alvarez works quickly, there were only 3 runs scored, so it was always gonna be under 3 hours.

But, 2:08? That is a little nuts. I noticed the time in the post-game show and was waiting for the interview of Samson congratulating them for complying with his directive to play faster and extolling the benefits of fast games. Alas, no Samson.

Personally, I'd prefer that every game took 4 hours, but that's just me -- I'd prefer to watch baseball than something else. Especially these guys. They remain fun to watch.

the game only lasted 2 hours 8 minutes. crazy

Yep, I liked it. Who says baseball us slow! ;-)

Isn't Casey arby eligible in 2015?

I believe I read that as well. That would be an awesome surprise to give Moran another year, which it looks like he will need.

Admin, just curious do you remember the parameters we set for me giving $100 to the site? game winning HR by ???

Anyone :mischief

I think it's Solano, Dobbs (RIP), Lucas and Hech? I could be remembering wrong though, you can change it to anything you like of course though because you're awesome for doing it at all.

Well, it's very unlikely that this team contends this season. I don't ser why they shouldn't sell.

It's called building a fan base. And let's cross the seller's bridge if we get there.

lol. Well I'm a big Lucas fan so I don't think I would have included him. Hech and Solano obviously. I'll throw Furcal in there :p

You probably mentioned Jeff Mathis

You probably mentioned Jeff Mathis

Maybe, but I also like Mathis as a player and stuff. It was my irrational hatred of solano, hech, dobbs, and the goofballs from last year that started it. I'll throw Mathis in there though.

Well he did say regardless of where the team sits in the standings, so...

And I think that same article (or one similar) said the Mets should be buyers because they started the season off strong.

I actually feel really good about our chances now that Bleacher Report doesn't believe in us.

That's shortsighted. As a business, there is an inderstanding that fans will come when you sustain a winner. This organization is terrible, but hypothetically, you build a team to win, and fans come, not chase fans with shortsighted moves and expect to sustain success.

So your way of winning is trade away key pieces... of a winning team?

That's a strawmans argument. We can discuss, but if you just want to misrepresent what I say, we can't really have a constructive discussion.

I thought that's what you were implying because the article says we should be sellers, even if we're winning. I thought you were agreeing, my bad. What were you trying to say?

Yes, because that formula has proven to be so well in producing a consistent fan base here. That logic is out of touch with reality. As you said, it is a business. Baseball does well with fans coming to games and buying merchandise not waiting for a team to be good. Losing money is not good business. Speaking of which, that's what's occurring now. So at this point, no, sellers they are not nor should they be until and unless they find themselves out of contention by the time the July trade deadline comes around.

Upon review and in addition to my previous response, what are you trying to say exactly?
