April 7th Post "Game" Dread Thread

Marlins 2003 started 0-2. Thats all i can say to restore my confidence as i go to sleep. Salty and latos and that 94.50 ERA...not a good start. Get them tomorrow in 21 hours.

I wouldn't over analyze two games

We are a fan forum for a baseball team. That's like asking Salty not to strike out. Of course we're going to over analyze two games.

And Jesus H. Christ. Worst of all, I forgot to tape "The Flash".

COmcast On Demand :)  Or just have Barry run back a day and remind you to record it

Eh, thats what EZtv is for.

Firstly, Latos was clocked at 93mph a few times today. Its his first start and as he gets looser that should improve. Same thing happened with Alvarez last year where he was 91-92 his first 3-4 starts and then started hitting 93-95 regularly.

Im more concerned that Latos just looks less fluid than he used to. Very deliberate and I know he was young, but he does not look as fit as he was with San Diego.

Offense again with serious issues as Morse, Saltalamacchia, and Hechavarria really struggling.

At least Morse has hit a few balls hard, Salty has barely made contact and Hech is back to his infield pop ups and weak grounders to 2B.

Stanton will never hit another home run again .

In regards to Latos, pitch placement was a bigger issue than speed. Every pitch was a dud right down the middle. It was just asking to get knocked around. He needs to hit some corners if he is going to get people out. I'm sure he'll be fine and that today was an anomaly.

I really feel like he was tipping his pitches- can one of our former pitchers rewatch the first 1/3 inning and see if he was doing something to top it. After missing as much time as he did last year, I have a feeling he is adjusting his hand inside his glove too "visibly" to grip certain pitches.

He looked slower to the plate too on certain breaking pitches againsti believe it was Markakis or Bethancourt
