Besides that I applaud Loria for finally shaking this front office up. Oh and Seattle in no way will want Jennings as GM. Oh also, be prepared for when this happens and casual fans start groaning that Loria changes his front office every year and acting like no other teams make front office changes.

Can't claim to make sweeping changes yet still keep the same 2 guys in top positions. We know Samson isn't going anywhere at least get rid of Jennings or Hill. Both would be better. Going outsize the organization would be the best option, but they seem to like to hire within. Berger just seems like a candidate if Loria does in fact get rid of Jennings. Scouting and Player Development. All those mofo's gotta go!

September 2, 201511 yr a Closer? Man these guys are obsessed with that crap. Get a LOOGY and let Capps and Ramos battle it out. #2 SP is needed but another SP is also needed. Besides Fernandez and Nicolino there aint crap left in that rotation. Cosart didn't look good in his rehab stint. That pic that Rosenthal posted of Jennings and Loria is hilarious tho.
September 2, 201511 yr What is his projected salary? Can't be high next year. First time arbitration. Capps is dominating but we can't count on that when he comes back or next year. I just don't think we should allocate that money into a closer role. The money needs to be put into starting pitching. Drop Dunn and get a nice left hand reliever. See if Ege works out if and when he gets called up or how Conley would pan out in that role. I can guess that the Marlins are pretty much going with the same position players next year, unless they decide to move Ozuna.

September 2, 201511 yr You guys are overestimating the positive impact this will have. Loria will likely hire the same types. It takes time and luck to rebuild a farm system and Loria wants to make a playoff push? Ya OK. Agreed about the time this rebuild will take but I'm not so sure Loria will hire the same types. Even then, sometimes a new voice can make a huge difference even if its a similar "type" as those before.

Regarding a #2, what worries me is I'm pretty certain this organization thinks Jared Cosart is a #2 type SP and will be the type of pitcher (ie bad) that they sign

I do think we can rule out the Cueto and Price. Zimmerman would be nice but he is going to command a nice pay day. Not high on Fister either. Strasburg continues to get hurt. No thanks on that.

They keep these jokers, nothing will really change, they will make some changes this winter and it will probably fail miserably, like seen for the last decade. They dump them and get new front office, then all of this is conjecture and I'd expect massive changes and we'll see what the plan really really is.

I'd buy Tastee a first class ticket to Seattle and tell him to go this month for a weekend. The boys will grind out a weekend series for him.
