2015 - 2016 Florida Panthers season

the passion that Erick has on this team actually convinced me to watch a very good portion of games 5 and 6, perhaps opening the door to one day finally go to a caps game out here.

Stanley Cup champs right there.

I hope not

Dude...come on. It's very FIU panthery. Not a bad thing, and I really don't mind the new logo at all. Maybe with a minor tweak or two it becomes very good.

I mean, I don't hate FIU lol... I just disagree. For no reason other than the fact that I don't see the similarity. I get it, they went to a real looking panther. They changed the gold to a more authentic color. By shadowing, are you referring to the way the logo looks like it was done on Adobe Illustrator? Because, I suppose that's just one way of noticing whether or not a logo was made post-2000. It's very vector artsy, but so are a lot lot lot of other logos.

I may like it more if the Panther's mouth was open and growling. Now he just staring like he's fucking pondering what to do next or just caught his wife cheating.

Lol wut?

should we start a new thread for the offseason, or continue in this. Couple of key contracts expiring and want to talk FA!

If you go watch a game live, you'll probably become a fan of the sport if you haven't already.

Yeah man. Just saw the mother panther going into the forest with one of the neighborhood panther and he's staring in shock and shame and his eyes are turning red with revenge and hate.

What the logo needs to be is what comes next. His teeth glaring.

Panthers sign Swedish D Linus Hulstrom from the SEL.

Undrafted class of 2010. Wait and see if he's Cory Murphy 2.0, or something legit.

A little small for my preference of Dmen. But he's a goal scorer so that's a plus.

Basically a Brian Campbell sized player. Don't know what sort of contract it is (he might be guaranteed NHL pay, or two way to the AHL).

I hope the Panthers aren't about to let Brian Campbell go, with this move. He's old, but he still logs big minutes. And his skating is that of a true artist. He's not what he used to be, but they should phase him out slowly, not abruptly. They could face noticeable consequences with ability to move the puck, which is already enough of a struggle from the back end as is.

I don't know. I imagine he's borderline, but needs North American hockey experience first. So, it's just speculation at this point, but I bet he's coming in on a two-way contract and will compete for a roster spot in training camp. Probably also dependent on whether or not they add another d-man during the offseason, to replace Willie Mitchell and the gaping hole we had all season.

Dustin Byfuglien has to be top priority. Can play both sides of the puck.

Im excited about this offseason, with a taste of the playoffs I'm interested to see if Tallon goes for the top FAs.

He signed a 5 year extension back in February

I can't imagine we are super active in FA. More likely we are if one of Campbell or Jagr don't re-sign. But, other than that, we have a lot of internal signings to focus on maybe make one or two additions. One being on D, one being at wing.

Ah shit you're right. Just looked on spotrac, not too many intriguing DMen besides Yandle or Goligoski.

I imagine if we are acquiring a dman, we are making a trade. We have more prospects NHL-ready than we can accommodate, and cap space to help another team out. I would also say that our picks are mildly expendable (but we've sort of already shipped too many out at the deadline).

Granted, Brian Campbell's soon to be reduction in cap-hit will allow for us to potentially purchase one of those names. Some youngsters do need contracts, though. If we buy, I vote Yandle.

I wish we got to play Tampa :/

We would have matched up well. Maybe next year
