2015 - 2016 Florida Panthers season

The NHL is actually probably the strictest when it comes to adhering to home vs. away colors. Some time in the early 2000s, it might've been the lockout, the NHL reversed the tradition. White used to be home, colors were away. They switched, I believe, because colored jerseys tend to be more of a fan favorite. It makes sense.

In the NFL, they do the same as the NHL. Colored jerseys are home, whites are away.

In the NBA, whites are home, colored are away. Much like in baseball, though, they're pretty lax about this. The home team can request an opposite... it's pretty common to see the Heat in dark colors at home.

Yes for hockey it definitely makes sense. The color should be worn at home, same for football. For basketball I feel like white really represents home.

Yandle 7 year, 6.35 per. I like it. Said it right after the season ended he has to be the number one priority!

But giving up Kulikov would be horrible, losing him or Guddy is one thing, but u can't let both go. I guess let Talon do what's best, he's obviously doing something right.

I was thinking 6 years at $6.5 so 6.35 isn't so bad and its only 1.1 million more per year than he was making last year. 7 years is long but he's only 29. As guys like Campbell have shown, defensemen can still be very effective at that age.

The way Yandle plays I think he'll age well. 6.35 isn't much considering he's a legit #2 defensemen and in 5 or 6 year the cap could be significantly higher. Love the signing.

I am still really happy with the move, don't get me wrong.

For what it's worth, this spells the end of Brian Campbell. Would love to see him stay, though, but that's basically his spot filled.

It sounded like Campbell was moving on regardless so I'm glad we found his replacement.

We also don't have the ready assets to be moved. I don't think this team wants to move Bjugstad because he's got a good contract. I don't think the Habs would even take Bjugstad as a base.

Don't mind trading Grimaldi, but was hoping we'd get a better goalie to backup Lu.

This makes more sense. Remember, we have to expose a goalie in the expansion draft next year. Get Barra as a stop gap backup, then afterwords get a younger guy who could turn into Lu's replacement.

Which is also why we might be shopping Kulikov. Turn a player who will be exposed during expansion into expendable and protectable assets (veteran dman plus prospect or pick, for example).

Team seems to be really into analytics these days. Not used to rooting for a team that doesn't look at advanced stats like they're cooties.

We have a lot of cap space but even the extensions we want to give out won't count until next year (except for Trocheck). Since we traded the Savard contract you'd have to assume we want to spend near the cap but I don't know who they need/want to sign. If they sign a defenseman  (Hamhuis/Demers maybe?) then we leave one of Pysyk or Hammer/Demers available in the expansion draft and if we sign a forward he'd most likely be playing 3rd line minutes (not worth much $). I really don't know why they traded Savard...

Btw, I'm a huge fan of our top 4 of

Matheson Ekblad

Yandle Pysyk

Lots of elite potential with this group. The bottom 2 (? - Petro) has some questions but it shouldn't be a problem getting serviceable minutes from that pairing.

Told ya they'd trade for a protectable asset. Kuli was a pending FA at expansion time. Not something you plan to protect. They just shed salary and got a guy worth protecting for that #3 D. Hopefully this could spark the return of Brian Campbell.

PS I'm pretty sure Yandle will be playing with Ekblad. Was a talking point of his contract. Playing with a future repeat Norris winner.

I'm not a doctor. But I imagine any contract he's getting will be paired with insurance for LTIR just in case.

I'd buy into it and move Boogstud to his wing.
