Meetings end tonight or tomorrow ?

Tomorrow night. One more night of bullshit before things go back to abnormal. Oh well Arpen is back!

Ends after the rule 5 draft. So tomorrow afternoon. Today is the last night. 4 days. 3 nights.

I have really turned the page with you my friend. Agreed.

Not anything that would blow us away. Dodgers have the stronger deal overall.

Indeed. But the THREAT posed by the DBacks potentially swooping in and acquiring Fernandez may put pressure on the Dodgers to pull the trigger.  The Dodgers can't allow a divisional rival to get Fernandez.

We should just sign tim hudson, cliff Lee and tim Lincecum and pretend its 5 years ago

That sounds like a very Braves things to do right now with Nick Swisher, Michael Bourn, Nick Markakis, AJ Piersynski, Gordon Beckham, Emilio Bonifacio, Erick Aybar, and Jim Johnson.

But practically, this is probably what they should be doing right now - nothing. The trade rumor shenanigans is infuriating, but the goal of this offseason is two starting pitchers and a lefty basher to help Bour. It's not in their interest to trade their controllable players unless they get the motherland or sign Price, Greinke, or Zimmerman to one of those crazy deals, or even Pelfrey to something over market.

They should be waiting until after Cueto and Leake sign, and see if there is a deal cheaper on someone like Chen, Kazmir, or Kennedy, and then maybe take a flyer on someone like Fister, G. Floyd, even Lincecum or Cliff as you mentioned, and see if they work out as the 5th SP. That's pretty cost effective and could work out. Or at least get them to July 1st to make a decision on if they should get another starter.

Of course, this is all ignoring they should have Carlos Rodon and should be willing to spend big money on 1 SP given that payroll is under $65 million, but given the hand they have created...

I am all for it. Competition will drive the price higher.

The Rodon affair is infuriating, but the Marlins didn't want him (I believe) because he was a Boras client.

Srsly, this management must go.  I can't exactly say that they turned this franchise into a running joke (we had horrible attendance under other owners as well) but they can't really claim to have righted the ship.

The national media loves trading the Marlins players to their favorite teams all the time. Most of that is due to the Marlins trading stars in the past, but usually the Marlins don't trade guys with several years left under club control. Usually it's the last year before free agency.

they seem to always wait till a player's value is at its lowest until they dump em
