December 14, 201510 yr That'd be Jose DeLeon. I'd be shocked if the Dodgers got THAT desperate. they must add Kike otherwise is a bad deal
December 14, 201510 yr Honestly, I could see LA countering with Seager, Pederson, DeLeon and some other good (but not elite) prospects.
December 14, 201510 yr some LAD folks think Deleon has higher upside than Urias.. both are high quality prospects, but Urias is something special with an insane ceiling
December 14, 201510 yr This is probably pissing Jose off. An mlb.com story said he is unhappy with the lack of signing players this offseason to improve the team
December 14, 201510 yr This is probably pissing Jose off. An mlb.com story said he is unhappy with the lack of signing players this offseason to improve the team Did he not see that we got Scruggs, Black, Axelrod, McGowan, and more? Jose is greedy and should be traded for $1 like Wes Helms.
December 14, 201510 yr If I was Stanton I'd be counting the days until opt out. I don't think that it's guaranteed. There's a decent chance that Loria sells before 2020, I think.
December 14, 201510 yr Oh, I see. Yeah, I guess that makes sense, but it's kind of hard for me to imagine that the contracts will keep exponentially increasing. The game isn't even really becoming more popular despite it's profitability.
December 14, 201510 yr If I was Stanton I'd be counting the days until opt out. 1 year, $65 million with an opt out at the end of each month.
December 15, 201510 yr Anything new on the Jose front? We might as well trade him and build for when Loria is gone. We aren't going to do shit next season
December 15, 201510 yr Anything new on the Jose front? We might as well trade him and build for when Loria is gone. We aren't going to do shit next season I'm inclined to agree. It's pretty obvious that he won't be extended and it seems like he doesn't want to be here anymore.
December 15, 201510 yr Baseball is a 9.5 billion dollar industry and growing. Players receive the smallest % share of any of the big 3 in terms of % of the revenues I believe (I think I read its around 42% of reveunes goto the players). Contracts arent going down anytime soon.
December 15, 201510 yr Corey Seager Alex Wood Scott Van Slyke Jose De Leon Grant Holmes no, I think if we don't get there big 3(Pederson, Urias, Seager) we have failed. They are in a position where they need to buy. We want a better deal than the braves got for a lesser product. Anything less than those three plus one of the 4 you have there beyond Seager would not be the competitive price for Jose.

Much of baseball's growth and revenue is attributed to media rights. It seems unlikely to me that hefty rights agreements are going to be sustainable in the long term without bankrupting the regional sports networks. I suspect that eventually the bubble will burst.
December 15, 201510 yr Maybe the reason why the Fish haven't signed any major pitchers yet and are thinking of trading Jose is that they secretly have mastered the science of cloning and have Jose #2-6 ready for the starting rotation once the original Jose leaves.
December 15, 201510 yr Corey Seager Alex Wood Scott Van Slyke Jose De Leon Grant Holmes Forget that...our front office has shown they are perfectly willing to spit in our eye and just lose...wait it out. Seager, Urias, Pederson, Slyke, Leon...splash the pot.
December 15, 201510 yr I have to say, there is something about Jose that I am really starting not to like. I don't know precisely what it is but as great of a pitcher as he is, he seems really fucking entitled and like he's a major smartass. Its almost like he's trying to hide some sort of resentment for the team but he's not doing a very good job of it.

December 15, 201510 yr Did you get all of that off of him saying "No comment" to a question? I just heard an short interview in the ticket 790 and the tone of his voice you can tell that he's disappointed and don't want to be here anymore. Not sure if it's the same "No comment" interview
