April 6, 201610 yr Author "That was a good pitch." "I didn't like that pitch." "That was a good play." "I like the way he played that ball." "something something unintentionally condescending towards Rich something something I played baseball you know?"
April 6, 201610 yr He is the worst analyst ever and Rich may lose it one of these days I thought you didn't mind him?
April 6, 201610 yr I thought you didn't mind him? Did I say that? Because I don't remember saying that. If I did, he got worse because it was almost unlistenable yesterday
April 6, 201610 yr When he started saying something about hitting better with the same handed pitcher right before Bour got that hit of Justin Wilson I lost it. He literally was making crap up out of thin air. Not that he wasn't already.
April 6, 201610 yr Something no one seemed to mention last night... Preston said that hitting coaches would tell him that a pop up to 2B with a runner on 3rd & less than 2 outs was way better than a hot smash to the 3B. Did anyone catch that after Ozuna's AB in the 8th inning?
April 6, 201610 yr Without Hutton,I just don't care who replacing him, maybe due to English was not my first language so I could ignored what that guy said easily.
April 6, 201610 yr Without Hutton,I just don't care who replacing him, maybe due to English was not my first language so I could ignored what that guy said easily. Preston doesn't make any sense even if you know English fluently. He speaks "Prestonese"

Preston said that hitting coaches would tell him that a pop up to 2B with a runner on 3rd & less than 2 outs was way better than a hot smash to the 3B. Did anyone catch that after Ozuna's AB in the 8th inning? I missed it. But another gem and although Rich said it incorrectly first was when they were clearly talking about "Petco Park" but they said Comerica and Preston just ran with it.
April 6, 201610 yr Many times after a statement, I would just say, "Thanks, Preston", as I imagine that is what Rich was thinking.
April 6, 201610 yr Author Many times after a statement, I would just say, "Thanks, Preston", as I imagine that is what Rich was thinking. He was pretty much talking down to him whenever he could, and I don't think he realized it. There was a point where Rich even said "I'm just here to listen." I almost died, because you could tell he pronounced it as though he was genuine, but he was irritated. Also, did anyone else notice how Rich sort of ended up doing more of the color commentating? Preston continuously sounded like a third commentator who was field-side. Almost as though Rich was getting the scoop from Minervini.
April 6, 201610 yr Marlins broadcast went from being one of the most enjoyable in the game, to this piece of turd last night.
April 6, 201610 yr @Admin is this a new marketing ploy to get people to go to games? Either watch at home and listen to Preston or come out and watch baseball in peace. Smart if so
April 6, 201610 yr Yeah, Preston was bad. Really bad. It was obvious too. Like worse than ever bad. Like now that he's actually part of the play by play team he tried even harder and got even worse.
April 6, 201610 yr Yeah, Preston was bad. Really bad. It was obvious too. Like worse than ever bad. Like now that he's actually part of the play by play team he tried even harder and got even worse. And did you see how Rich would look when Preston would try and put together a sentence while the cam was in the booth? Rich looked disgusted
April 6, 201610 yr I wonder what university Preston went to and how many degrees he has? I can guarantee you the answer to that is 1) Not FSU and 2) less than 2
April 6, 201610 yr He is fucking terrible. Jesus Christ. Honestly, at this point just try to find a way to get Leiter and Perez to rotate. Preston seems like a great guy but he just is not a good commentator. Or they can do the right thing and bring Hutton back.
April 6, 201610 yr Preston doesn't make any sense even if you know English fluently. He speaks "Prestonese" So have any idea why FOX SPORT liked him so much as a color analyst ?
April 6, 201610 yr So have any idea why FOX SPORT liked him so much as a color analyst ? Because he's not Tommy Hutton.
April 6, 201610 yr There is no hate. It's criticism. Commentary in baseball is a major part of the experience, and Preston makes the games less enjoyable for some of us. Yep
