Ok Admin, who's our another starter besides Jose,Conley,Chen and Koehler after trade deadline ?

chris narverson or jeremy guthrie. Rodney can pitch the 5th to hold the other team to 7ER though

I think with the heavy workload in the first half for our major relief pitchers ,adding Rodney is necessary.

blowing your only useful trade asset on a RP when you desperately need SP doesn't seem like a very wise move to me but w/e. bow & arrow 4 lyfe.

the move will be even more hilarious if they can't sign braxton

Besides the obvious wins on our record I love this cubs series more because it says a lot to the front office. They know what they need to do.

Sorry I'm quoting your post but it won't let me post on this topic without quoting your post for some reason.

Anyway.....

Rich Hill has a 2.5 WAR this year. Give the A's a blank check for him.

there's a good chance he'd provide as much value if not a tad more than our 5th starter this year (which has been below replacement level)

Stop it. Paddack isn't near MLB ready

You have this deep belief that we are trying to buy a Ferrari with pennies. We have enough to get a SP in the down market.

Speaking of Future Hall of Famer Chris Paddack, here was his line for his first start in the Padres organization:

4 innings, 1 run on 6 hits, 6 strikeouts, no walks. He went 12 days between appearances, likely lending to the rusty start by his standards. He's with the Fort Wayne TinCaps in the Midwest League (Single-A).

What a missed opportunity.  Team should be Ft Wayne TinFoilCaps.

every time the umps make a bad call, it's a government conspiracy.

down market? What? lol. The best 2017 FAs are rich hill and...cashner. It's the compelte opposite of a down SP market.

we don't have a chance in hell at pomeranz: Rangers Among 10 Teams With Interest In Drew Pomeranz

lol indeed.

(That's what it would take, I think. And that would be a bad deal for the Marlins. Do we agree, pols?)

yeah but not very confident they sign braxton; yr right though braxton naylor alone wouldnt do it. naylor probably sucks

Exactly, it's a down market. When people are blowing their wads over Rich Hill, and Drew Pomeranz, it's a down pitching market.

You think they would decline Josh Naylor and Braxton for Drew f'n Pomeranz?? I love how Naylor sucks because he isn't an all star in pro ball at 19 years old. Anyone that saw him in the futures game knows he will at absolute minimum be on a big league roster by age 23-25.

Meanwhile, Chris Paddack with 5 innings, 2 hits, no runs and 9 strikeouts tonight. But, I know, it's only A ball and he's years away.

yes, they will get a far better offer than that for Pomeranz. That's less than what the padres gave up for him.

Naylor sucks because 1) he's not on a single top 150 prospect list 2) he was drafted for one tool, power, which he's sucked at
