I don't hate the move because the win probability only goes down a bit but it does eliminate the DP. The issue with calling for the bunt is that even a successful sac bunt still lowers the odds of scoring a run. The risk of an unsuccessful bunt of course makes it much, much worse.

 

Also, JT is a good hitter, but now it's Hech and some piece of Fish Garbage off the bench.

 

 

How can you say this is not depressing. We just blew the save against the worst team in baseball and in danger of being 2-8 against them because we can't hold leads.

The odds of us scoring a run with Mathis at the plate were likely higher based on the possibility of Vizcaino throwing a wild pitch somehow over the outfield fence than based on Mathis getting a hit.

I literally just dont understand baseball sometimes I guess. Here we have Mathis who brings literally NOTHING to this team outside of MAYBE good game calling skills. He's hitting what, 170 at most on the year? And we also have a switch hitting catcher who is raking in AAA slugging .421 and just had the second best month of his career. He's 24 and can play both C and 1B. Simple to get in to games. Yet Mathis is sticking with this team.

 

The business of this game just maddens me beyond belief
