All the talks of trading Ozuna...how about trading Stanton instead? Serious question, not trolling.

No one is gonna take his contract with his injury history and production decline

Doyers would or Angels,Giants, Tigers ,RedSox

Why not? The next 5 years or so of that deal are pretty great when he's healthy.

If a team isn't scared of his injury history, the time to sell might be now before it potentially gets worse. This franchise can't take a chance on Stanton's contract potentially becoming bad, and it's the quickest way to fix the talent in the system by trading him.

I'm for making some big changes this offseason.

And they wouldn't give us anything in return. Point of trading Ozuna is to get a legit SP

We would get way more for Stanton than we would for Ozuna.

if the Marlins sent cash yes they would but Loria being Loria they would get a parakeet back for Stanton to unload his contract

Stanton's contract is not bad/untradeable. Not even close. We'd get plenty of value for him if we traded him in the offseason. He's arguably the best power hitter in the game in his prime.

Stanton has a no trade clause

What a fucking joke. Knew this shit would happen in August and Jose Fernandez has shown why he isn't ready to lead this team.

What is that like a 4.5 ERA on the road? Laughable.

are you guys serious? we're 2.5 games out of the wild card with 40 games to go and you guys are already throwing in the towel? what a  bunch of negative nancies.

grow a pair and have some fuckin faith!

You must not watch the games. The standings don't tell the whole story.

Imagine a world where Jeff Loria traded Stanton in the off season leading up to the Home Run Derby being held in Miami for the first time ever

He'll probably injure himself before the Derby.

The Marlins certainly overperformed this year with a bad rotation.  They are probably stuck with Chen as well and will hope he turns things around which won't happen.

Doesn't make sense to blow up the team. They were doing well before injuries and stupid trades and without a rotation. Keep the team intact, add some depth and SP. Although I'm pretty sure the FA list is short and shitty and even if it wasn't, Hill would go out and get the guys prime for decline.

Only FA sps are hellickson and cashner. Their best bet is trade ozuna for something legit and sign a FA OF like fowler or Reddick  to replace ozuna

They pretty much have to bring Prado back.  There is no other option unless you want Chris Johnson playing 3b every day...

Mike Hill is definitely the biggest impediment to the success of this team. The guy's a total dumbass and I wouldn't even trust him to manage a fantasy baseball lineup.

If they still had Capps, I'd say trade Ramos and Ozuna for pitching in the offseason. I'd still trade Ozuna sans Capps. Then sign a new OFer in free agency.

Honestly, I don't know what other options they really have in terms of trade pieces.

Saying that the Marlins should consider trading Stanton is just wasting your breath.
