2017 thread

Well, to be fair, Chris Johnson WAS someone proven who could hit lefties. Just typical Marlins luck.

I don't want Cespedes. If Dexter Fowler ends up not taking the mutual option with the Cubs next year [doubtful but why not], I'd rather have him. Cespedes would get quite an overpay, and similar with him, he'd have to opt out of his three year deal, which now with his injury, I don't believe he would. Reddick is probably the more realistic option, I'd say. I am in agreement, trade Ozuna while his value is higher.

Finally, Dicks Out for Harambe.

Xavier Scruggs? My ass. Why did we have to count on a garbage prospect? Who is the charge of this situation?

Hill must be fired.

his 2015 against lefties ops was like .700 which sucks for that side of the platoon 1b. He's a classic marlins signing of a guy clearly showing signs of decline.

I like ozuna but the only way they get any sort of SP is if they trade him

- Add a powerful OF (who can play all OF position, also dumped Ichiro)

- Buy new 1B

- Re-arrange and regroup whole rotation.

- Add 2+ bullpen arms (1 lefty, 1+ righty)

For the bullpen arms, I'm thinking they should go after Capps and hand?

Bour is fine at 1b. 25+ hr 850+ ops.

Id also trade high on Marcell for proven top of the roty help

I'd like Nieves gone.

I really dislike Mattingly but he's proven he can win so I'll give him another year.

I'd like new scouts.

And yeah Hill goes.

I agree with letting Hill go but they have to keep the on field coaches and manager. Remember that stability is a huge issue with this team. There will never be a buy-in with the current players or potential free agent signings with constant turnover on the field.

I would trade Hech and see what Ozuna gets us. Although Fowler sounds nice I have a feeling he stays with the Cubs somehow.

Get a real LOOGY and a left masher.

Who is going to want Rey Ordonez version 2?

I can't fucking believe Capps is gone next season.

Bro we are stacked in the Pen, (blow 2 almost 3 of last 4)

oh shit

I guess this is the post game thread.....

I missed most of the game (lucky me).

You would have thought Ichiro went 0-5 by reading the game thread (he went 2-4).

What a sad team this is right now. And to run into the Reds and Pirates at this point of the season is just brutal.   Ozuna is the most careless Marlins outfielder that I can recall.

are you guys serious? we're 2.5 games out of the wild card with 40 games to go and you guys are already throwing in the towel? what a  bunch of negative nancies.

grow a pair and have some fuckin faith!

I threw in the towel awhile ago, actually--when Stanton got injured.

I don't think that posting in this thread is some declaration of throwing in the towel.

I still think the Marlins can make the play-in game. But it will likely be on the road.  I think I'm more comfortable with Phelps starting on the road than Fernandez.
