Pirates and Cardinals came back, Mets tie us in the 8th..... this team is in a total free fall.

They have given up 6 runs in 3 games and lost all 3.

On top of the fact they they're bad, they're also the dumbest team in the big leagues. Bad combo.

It's all Jose's fault tho

I wish they would've sucked from day one like they do every year. I miss not caring at this point of the year.

Also, trade Stanton.

Fun fact: Hechavarria has the second lowest OPS in the majors, only trailing Alexi Ramirez. He was 11th lowest in 2014 and lowest in 2013.

Point being 2015 was clearly an anomaly (wasn't even that great then) and he is easily one of the worst hitters in baseball and has been since he joined the Marlins.

I have no idea how he should be given a major league starting job next season. He deserves more sh*t than he's given.

I don't even care if he's an above average defensive shortstop. He's so bad offensively that it shouldn't even matter anymore.

Also, this game was all Jose's fault what a terrible pitcher dfa him as well

Just stop.  No one said this was Jose's fault. Please just stop.

I've always given him shit.

Agreed.  Hech is barely a top 25 ss among qualified starters but he's a player the analytics disinclined FO will never give up on

Yep.  On the bright side, we have loads of infield talent in the minors waiting behind him.

Another thing. Wittgren was a closer most of MILB career. Mattingly has treated him as 2 inning MRP all year. This guy's just a terrible manager for this team. He clearly doesn't know the young players. With LA he had a lot more veteran talent who could adapt to his style. A team full of kids just apparently isn't his forte

He's hardly top 10 defensively.  Probably out of it now

Didn't we just win a big game against San Diego? I mean you want to blame pitching but an average of giving up 2 runs over 3 games and you lose all three....thats just fucking pathetic.

You're so missing the point of this imo. Guys give up home runs on bad pitches . Unfortunately the marlins can't hit a ball in the air on a terrible pitch.

Really hope some non analytic team thinks ozuna is good and we can get a #4\5 for him

I mentioned here back in 2013 that I resigned myself to Hech being the team's starting shortstop until 2018. It was obvious how irrationally the front office loved him.

I'd rather have Miguel Rojas start everyday at shortstop than Hech now. I think it's time.

It's not Mattingly's fault. This team would suck with any manager. We've fired 78564769 managers over the past decade and the team has sucked regardless of the manager.

The problem is the owner, the injury prone "superstar," and the lack of depth. No manager can win with this team.
